Who saves every receipt? I keep every mod and gas receipt along with logging date and mileage of when I do the modification or perform the maintenance... anyone? My friends think I'm goofier than shit.

I do about 3/4 of that, but don't tell anyone, because I know I would get the looks... I get the looks when I tell people that I use excel to track my truck build, gun builds and all of my bills and finances to plan it all out...

Nah your not alone ..I have notebook in my truck that I keep track of daily miles , MPGs, maintenance records... I literally know anything fixed or put on my truck all way down to car washes...it seems anal and bit much but I've been able to find signs of developing problems with my truck from MPG, it went down looked into and ended having replace the immediate crank shaft ( I think it's called ) and upper control arms...it's good to know sometime my mechanic uses it for reference and see what's been done to vehicle.. You have really have commitment to it other wise it's not worth it. I love knowing it all helps pick good products to cause I know how much they last..

I keep all paperwork ... track gas on fuelly ... use one credit card for gasoline purchases only ... a bit anal-retentive I guess ... so, I see nothing wrong with it.

I don't keep and log gas receipts but do for everything else. Keep it all in a folder in the glove compartment in chronological order. I've been doing it for all of my vehicles for the past several years.

I keep an excel file for all of my vehicles. A tab for maintenance performed, and one for aftermarket add on's with dates, mileage installed, part numbers, vendors, etc.

Also keep copies of all my invoices/receipts. I use mint to track my gas spending though....that would be way to many receipts to keep. I don't recommend keeping your parts receipts in the truck....you'll need proof of purchase for insurance claims...if the vehicle is stolen or a total loss (burned etc.) You'll lose your proof....and insurance money!!

lol I do this too. I have a thick binder full of receipts, the individual manuals/instructions that came with my accessories and a detailed log including when I do my detailing of the truck and maintenance. I also kept all of the original brochures from Toyota for the 2010 Tacoma...I guess I'm a little obsessed. :p

I just log everything I do including mods in my maintenance book, and save the receipts of anything thats has a warranty potential, like tires, shocks, etc.

I keep all my fuel receipts and have a excel file to track millage, as well as all the receipts for everything I bought for the truck. But I keep the receipts for everything I buy that might require repair or replacement due to a warranty issue. It can also help for insurance purposes.

I use fuelly for when it comes to my milage and what not. I do keep receipts for anything that is done to the truck maintenance wise. Anything that is done at the dealer to rock chips. Like others I am a anal-retentive about little things like that.

I have in the past (years ago) but now I keep zero receipts for anything.

For me, I don't see a benefit (if I'm missing something, please fire away)...knowing the exact numbers would not drive any reduction in costs.
