    Definitely interested! This is the direction I want to take my radio use. I’m also looking into adding solar.

    Did you see my battery-in-a-can? I'm running my rig solar. I just purchased a Spiderbeam 14m mast and a shooting field bag. The radio, computer, cables, nanoVNA, handheld, and other things are in the field bag. I may still put my HF in an ammo can but I don't have the ambition right now. I'm working 7 days a week and away from home 2-3 nights a week until the FAA gets their act together.

    Do you use js8 call? I seem to having trouble getting the right settings with it.

    I have WJST-x and fldigi set up fine. Not sure why this is throwing me for a loop.

    Its a short write-up with a few pics. Has a parts list. Use the WAGO 221 Lever-Nuts Wire Connector! They are awesome. Do not use the Chinese brand. not the place to save a buck.

    ask any questions.

    Yes, I can check settings for you in a couple hours. What sound card do you use? Is it a sound or rig control issue?

    I'm not sure. I've got a signalink hooked to the ft-891.

    Like I said the set up is almost the same as FL digi it seems so I'm not sure what's going on. My alc meter is moving appropriately. But when I do the heartbeat pulse nothing is returned

    Are you in DATA-U or SSB? I was having a problem getting anything out and it turns out my handheld mic was picking up the sound rather than the data port.

    If WSJT-X works then your time must be close enough.

    @m603holden
    Settings->Radio->Rig Options
    PTT Method: CAT
    Mode: Data/Pkt
    Split Operation: Fake It

    And of course, there's the frequency question. If you somehow ended up on DATA-L in your settings you'll have trouble. Maybe check your speed under "Mode". Enable decoding of all speeds, do three passes.

    Sorry if this is, "is it plugged in?" type stuff but it's all little things that can be missed.

    Yeah everything else is all set up right. I'll have to check the enable decoding though.

    We will see if I ever get to leave work. Gas line failure caused a power outage which caused road closures. Now UPS is stuck in traffic and I can't fly until they bring be packages. This day has been a disaster. Radio is loaded up though.

    I forgot I made this. It’s a Kenwood 7400a. Power supply and wire antenna inside. It works pretty good. I figured it’s a back up back up lol

    I like it, @cllowe24.

    Here's my backyard shack this morning and last night.

    Got my Spiderbeam 14m mast yesterday. I'm liking it. I have a 64' EFHW with the feed point 10' up the mast and the end of the wire sloped to 8' AGL.
