    Okay...Was looking to find some info...I have the Yaesu FT-1802M mobile radio I am gonna set it up as a base. with that being said can you hook a mic to it not the one that is 4 or 5 pin like a phone jack but a regular mic or and run it through a mac? Not sure where to start

    I hope to be taking my test oct. 3rd and Pass I hope

    Im LOST in what your end goal is. You can get an adaptor to hook up a desk mic to it.

    You would need to build an adapter from the six pin jack to whatever you want to connect it to. The manual gives you a pinout. Screenshot_20200902-081218_Drive.jpg

    Not sure if your ptt needs pulled high or low but I would assume low.

    Picked up a FT-2980R yesterday for the QTH. Really nice radio, only 2m but it works well for what I need. The audio output is very clear and crisp. I really like the large screen, great big numbers. Price is good too.
