    Yes.
did you add any additional bracing to the roof where the mount is beyond the washer that's typically included?

Nothing other than the bracing of the dome light (strong bracket distributing the load).

    Yes.
So I'm in a bit of a pickle. I'd like to replace a Comet SBB-2, and a Diamond SG-7700 with three STI-Co flexi-Whips on the roof I think.

The Comet is connected to my dedicated APRS transmitter. The Diamond to my D700. I was thinking a splitter on the back of the D700 to a dedicated 1/4wave 2m and 70cm, and then a second dedicated 1/4wave 2m for the APRS.

The catch is I don't think I can get more than about 5/8 wave separation between the antennas if they all go on the roof of my access cab. I'm not sure that's enough. I'm not worried about the APRS rig as it's a transmitter only. But I think the APRS transmitter is likely to desense the D700 for a fraction of a second every 2 minutes. Thoughts?

I'd like to avoid antennas that are likely to damage the roof, or the antenna should I drive under something low. Also I park in a garage at work, with fairly low clearance. The Flexi-Whips shouldn't have any trouble at all. I'm not sure something like the LARSON NMO antennas would be the same.

Oh it's going to get moved once I decide to fork out the coin for aftermarket radio. The LX radio systems well all the system are intertwined and you can't just rip it out. Only couple places make a kit and it's like $300. You still have to custom molding because it still has gaps..
When Lexus built the LX, they were like... It will be prefect and won't need to be changed... Which it kind of is. They took the Beast Of the Land Cruiser and made it better. To be frank.. I don't see myself in anything but a Lexus as a daily driver for life.. But I am willing to pay the price.. Not only for the SUV itself, but for the experience/service you receive when at the dealership.

Sorry if I got on a side track... Anyway.. So it's ok to post your "Call sign". I thought it was your car registration. Any body can look you up and find out where you live?

Nothing wrong with not wanting to post your call in a public forum. I don't. Its a personal preference.

Unfortunately, addresses and phone numbers are listed on the fcc website under each call sign. Googled my dad's and found it years ago.

    Not phone numbers.

It's the license holder address and first, last name.

I used a p.o. box instead of my physical residence. That's fine according to everything I read. The FCC sends me letters and I get them and that's all they care about.

This! If you used your home address, etc, it's too late to go to a PO Box.
