Alright OCTaco, now that you've been running these new lines for awhile, have there been any issues? Fittings coming loose? Leaking? Any fade in the pedal?

Don't mind me, I'm just using you as a guinea pig. If you lose your brakes and wreck I'm not ordering a set of lines from you :D

LOL. Well, since I'm replying to you're post I think it's obvious that I'm still alive and well. The lines are perfect. No issues at all. I haven't been contacted by any TW with issues either so I think it's safe to say these lines work. That and my buddy offers a great warranty, if there are any issues with lines he will repair/replace them for as long as he is in business.

LOL, I have to put aside a little scratch, but I'll need the new lines before I do any good exploring in the woods. I'll be in touch when it comes time to put in an order.

I think my lines were over torqued from the factory, they are not coming off.

I sprayed them last night with Partsmaster industrial penetrant and let them sit overnight, then sprayed em again this morning. All I got was this esezezy9_9d633ef24e1a5948192bb30b5719cab5195fa623.jpg

    And then this
    a8a6ydeh_3633d9a42eaa013ff639b8f22c93abc7f595d48e.jpg

    And then this
    hasypura_8e8932c4bdf476f030480a1bc9e47024a3e44863.jpg

Whats my next step? Cut them off and order new metal lines?

Ouch, Before you cut I would try Vice Grips. You could carefully heat them if you replace your fluid after.

Good idea, I already tried vice grips. But didn't think about heating the fitting up.

That's crazy. I've never seen lines that tight. Vice grips sound like the best way to go, and definitely apply some heat.

IMO that's a friggin' shit mess, and I hate a shit mess :poking:. I'd carefully hacksaw (fine tooth metal blade) the steel line right behind the compression fitting (that's the part you rounded over), and throw the old :censored: fitting and hose in the trash. Take your new fitting and your nifty flare tool, slide new fitting over the cut end of the brake line (make sure the threads are facing the right direction ) and flare the end of the brake line. BAM! That shit's like new :D

The reason I'd go with this approach is if it's over-torqued on one side, it probably is on the other. And bending new line is a pain in the nuts. And there's enough excess line for you to replace the fitting as I have described. And there's no heat involved. And it's easy. And you needed an excuse to buy a flaring kit and save yourself a lot of money down the road. And heat and brake fluid should be avoided when possible.

Note: Do your research, this is not a definitive how-to guide. :mudding:

    the break line cut-out is a 17mm.

    i'm guess double-wrenching didn't work..

cutting it off and getting a new fitting & flaring where you cut should work, you should be able to bend the line very slightly if you need to close the gap.

Installed my lines and 2 of the lines(top rear-end connection) were a small pain in the ass to get off.

I noticed that 2 of my connections were flared maybe too much from the factory, even with the fittings completely un-threaded it was still stuck on.

    +1 for great lines
