Amazon $40 Gift Card

I was just on Amazon looking at the BluLogic system for my truck and came across it for $64 and some change. After looking at it other places I decided that was a great deal and pulled the trigger on it. As I was checking out I was offered a $40 gift card if I signed up for the Amazon Prime Store Card (I already have a Amazon CC and am a Prime member). I agreed to it, was approved and instantly had a $40 gift card applied to my account. Checked out and my $24 BluLogic will be here Thursday! Not sure if it is only for Prime members or what but its a good deal! I will never use it but thanks anyway Amazon!

 

Plus with the Amazon store card and prime you get 5% back or 0% for 6,12,18 months depending on how much the purchase is.

I have the older original Amazon card by Chase and the wife and I have it linked to our account, with Prime its 5% as well. We buy a lot of day to day and random stuff from Amazon and the points add up fast. I also use it for when I order other stuff online. I was confused when I signed up for this one because I thought it was the same card I already had but it is not. I doubt I will ever use it other than once or twice a year to keep it active.

 

Just another side of the coin. Having done a little financial coaching, nothing comes free. They have done the math and a overwhelming majority don't pay of the balance in time and then become subject to the interest rate- negating any introductory offer and this card has lovely 26.4% interest rate and its variable-not something I would remotely want, nor the hassle to go back and close it.

Yeah, I pay mine off every month just to get the 5% benefit. Only thing I don't use it for is electronics. I like my double warranty benefit from my everyday credit card.
