Sorry, if already answered I did a quick search and saw nothing.

When I start my truck and Android Auto starts up it turns off my radio and defaults to the I Heart Radio app. I like the app especially on longer trips but locally prefer to just have on my local news radio. I've tried switching back to the radio before I turn off the Truck. I make sure the app is closed on my phone, too. Oddly, this works about 1 out of 10 times, so I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but too old to figure it out myself.

What do I need to do to insure when I start the truck the regular old fashioned radio stays on?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Edited- I mean Android auto not Amazon

This worked in stopping Spotify for me:

To disable automatic music playback in Android Auto, navigate to Android Auto settings > General > Start Music Automatically and toggle the setting to "Off".
    Here's a more detailed breakdown:
    • Open Android Auto: Launch the Android Auto app on your phone.
    • Access Settings: Tap the three-line menu icon in the top left corner, then select "Settings".
    • Find General Settings: Navigate to the "General" section.
    • Locate Autoplay: Find the "Start Music Automatically" option.
    • Disable Autoplay: Toggle the switch to the "Off" position.
Your truck might still open up Android Auto and have twin screen with a mapping program and a music program. In which case you have to navigate down the menu on the left to the folder icon (very bottom). That opens up a page of all your apps. Tap the "Toyota" icon. There the radio app is available. Alternatively, you can try just pushing your volume dial button (acts as on/off for radio) and see what happens.

If you are not happy with this solution, you can turn off wifi and bluetooth on your phone when approaching your truck to stop Android Auto from connecting. There is also a way to stop Android Auto from starting automatically in a setting on your phone. But that is further discussion.

It just occurred to me I didn't elaborate on how to get to Android Auto within your phone. If you are having that problem, here is a general guide:

Get to the settings on your phone. On most Android phones a slide down action from the top of the phone reveals a panel with a gear icon. Tap it. Scroll down to "APPS". Then "APP management". Then tap on Android Auto. Also what you seek might be listed as "Additional settings in the app".

Thanks for the advice. This worked and my driving experience is less frustrating.
