We have one for my son. He uses it but he likes the iPad better.

We had one for awhile but it became obsolete fairly quickly. I’m sure the new ones are better.

It was great for streaming and downloading shows and videos. Not so good for apps IMO. We mainly used it for the car.

I bought Fire 8 HD tablets for my kids, added the carry case, and sideloaded the play store. Personally I like the controls that I have been able to set up on my own, better than what comes on the "kids" version for the price. For reference my kids are 8 and 3. HD 8s are only 49.99 right now. But you do have to purchase a case separately

It's been a few years since I messed w/ one. I tried to like it. The OS limits what you can download or do. I went back to ipad.

Our four year Olds have those for over a year. I think Fire kids tablets are OK for young kids, not so sure about older ones though. Besides some, actually a lot of kid's apps, age appropriate educational games, there are bunch of cartoons and movies they could stream, Aaaand their 2 year warranty makes it tempting. And we fell for it (not really in a bad way though)

Take your kids outdoors or spend time with them instead of frying their brains with electronics.

This is a nice thought but not always possible, there isnt really anywhere to get outdoors in the airport or on a flight/long car ride

Thanks guys for the info, it’s for my 8 year old and worried it will be too restrictive and not have all the apps she uses on the Amazon platform.
