Hello, first time user here. I have a 2017 trd off road and would like to disconnect the led DRLs and run only the amber turn signal lights like the older models and SR5's. Ive seen a few comments on this, but no real write up, has anyone done it that can post pictures or give advice? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the offer, and I had considered it, but I tend to change my mind...alot... so I would really just like to wire it im and change it back later if I decided to.

Any reason you don't want the spiffy white LED DRL's? I wish my SR had them.

Personally I really like the amber lights. It is a really nice iconic look coming down the road, you always know it's a taco when you see it. The white leds are to "blingy" for my taste

Everyone has white DRL now a days. Even a base model Kia.
    Amber is where it's at!

I have actually concidered that if i keep my turn signal. Since drl and halo will be switchback I can just use the amber on both as drl and not use the white correct?

If using diode dynamic DRL boards they do not reccomend powering amber all the time for DRL, only using it for momentary turn.(at least that's what their tech told me when I called)

I just emailed them and they confirmed you can do the halos that way but the signal wont blink white. Retrofitsource

I realize that plus it's not legal. That's why I want to keep my OEM turn signal and just have the halo and drl to use as amber Drl's. I really like Meso's drl and being different..just wouldn't use the white on either at all.

I read the law here in calgary and so long as i dont mess with the color of the headlight while driving, ie demon eye, nothing wrong with amber halos

I meant the white turn signal here in U.S. I'm gonna double check with DD to see but I'm guessing Meso is right...not a big deal if they wait a little while to make my lights while I'm waiting for some parts. That will make them different anyway...:yay:

To be honest I'll be happy with almost anything. I really like the basic design of the headlight but too much chrome. With the new projectors and light output, blacked out and angry eyes I'll be happy. Anything else will be bonus.
