I've had my roof-mounted lightbar in place for about a year now with positive things to say about it, when conditions are great! I recently visited both Pismo and Glamis in less-than-ideal conditions and it performed like total crap. Serious glare to the point where I found myself not using it at all. I've spent a week or so researching a several options and I narrowed it down to the two I think make the most sense: getting an amber cap for the lightbar and/or using the anti-glare visor made by one of the guys on this forum.

Without having experience with either, it's a bit challenging to make a decision. Do any of you have experience with one or the other or both? I'd appreciate the input!

I'm assuming you mean the glare was from the weather/conditions like fog, not your hood right? If that's the case, the amber cover will help with that. Won't eliminate it, but should help. The visor is meant to help with hood glare if I understand properly.

It's a combo of both. I know there's some glare with the silver truck of the hood, but that's generally not an issue for me. It becomes a problem when there's dust/fog/etc. in the air.

Then I'd go with amber cover.
My pod fog lights are brighter without my amber covers but in snow dust ect they work great.
