    Meh. Category two is just a thunderstorm IMO. You guys should be fine as long as the levees dont break. And without the huge storm surge this year it's highly unlikely. It's just weird that it has to happen on the anniversary..

    Yeah, because 100mph winds constitute a thunderstorm.

    Storm surge is predicted between 6-12 feet in New Orleans, the Airport os closing tonight and all of the low lying areas have mandatory evacuations. Down here the wind isn't the problem it's the rain. I'll take a quick moving Category 4 over a slow Category 2 any day

    Well, last time I checked it wasn't 100mph so I'm sorry. The levees should still hold up to 12ft. Much less then Katrina. I'm not/wasn't trying to say don't worry about it, or not prepare.

    I guess I'm stupid and need to shut up.

    It's not, now. It's projected to make landfall as a Category 2. And the levees were supposed to hold all the surge that came with Katrina. As long as the pumps work and people don't act stupid we'll all be fine.

    The only problem is in Baton Rouge it floods at the drop of a hat.

    This is what I woke up to last year after a night of rain.
