    so this kid in my geo class legitimately thinks the moon is bigger than the earth.

    when we were discussing moon phases, he pointed out that the diagram we were using was backwards; because light "wraps around and some goes through" the moon. he pointed out that the "new" moon was actually a "full" moon because of this effect.

    also, he tried to explain that "because of how the sun and the stars rotate around the earth, added to the earth's own rotation," "stars and the sun shouldn't rise and set together"
