    Nah I didn't get to go, my Inlaws were just here and they went up but by the time they went up only had hard snow, but had great weather!

    Im stuck on oahu watching all my BI friends post pics of them up in the snow... :jellydance:

    miss the weather over there too, still getting used to the honolulu heat

    Bra the past week or so it's been in the upper 50's here so I can imagine at your guys place on that side(kona) with your high elevation. That's one of the things I don't miss about Oahu is the heat! Over there every night with the a/c on, here it's blankets! Oh and another thing I don't miss, is the freakin traffic :puke: there

    and theres nothing wrong with that. My complaint is that those tours are often ridiculously overpriced.

    And theres also nothing wrong with newcomer start-ups. Small business is good.
    But theres a lot of newcomers that are butting into traditional long-time family run businesses that market their "expertise".<<-- thats what I have a problem with.


    Case and point:
    Many "new" kona coffee farmers/brands that came here with a ton of money are now bigger than many of the family owned farms.

    They have slogans like "Quality kona coffee! With more than a decade of experience!"
    Whilst they "blend" their coffee to sell en masse only using 10-40% kona coffee" and try to stomp local farmers...who have been here for more than a hundred years.

    I've been to Oahu and Kauai. I LOVED kauai. It was 100x better than Oahu other than pearl harbor.

    Maui or the big Island are next.

    Kauai or the big island (and parts of maui) are the best places to see modern hawaii that's escaped overdevelopment

    I've only been to Oahu; much too crowded IMHO. But the North side was beautiful. Want to take my wife sometime; what island would you suggest first? Had a friend that went to Maui and loved it compared to Oahu.
