American BS thread

well yeah but mine understand, they know im plenty smart enough to go make good grades, too bad i never really used it in high school. ive been to one semester of college and did fine, it wasnt what i wanted to do quite yet so i didnt do great, but i know i can do it, if my horse career doesnt work out.

 

yeah, my gut feeling as a dad would be to say to do it the other way around, get some kind of degree first while you work with horses, but i take it you live in horse country so horses are an industry there right? It's a legit tradecraft, you're young, no kids, no mortgages, truck payments, health-care, utilities, school clothes.....etc, etc, then the dreamer in me says to chase that dream while it's feasible to do so. Hey, working for yourself beats working for anyone else, any day, and it sure as hell beats working in restaurants!

 

Maybe if I wrote in crayon would that help?

the only thing school could really teach me would be the business management part, and the job might not be available then, but the lady that owns the barn would be managing it really...i think i would be like a contractor she would hire to do the work, she runs the business part. she buys the horses, i train them, she sells them, splits profit with me. But i also bring in clients for her, which would be my students if they want to board their horse there. she makes money keeping their horse, i make money teaching them to ride. Im on the outskirts of horse country.

 

this american bs...chasing the american dream baby, doing what you love and gettin paid to do it! whats more american than that?
