ok i has question bout blackie... the leaf springs, is it just toyota i can use or is there other ones i can use if i go to a salvage yard? Im playin hookie today  so i washed blackie and was checkin him out, and my leafs are neutral theres a very slight positive bend. annnndddd i also found where my cab is kinds rusty underneath the rear driver side...well its not kinda rusty any more, i kind of have a decent size hole in the cab now :pout: plus my fender is getting bad, but the fender isnt as important as the cab rust, and my engine leak, so i figured ide scout out other things i need for it too. Im hoping and praying i get a decent size bonus that i can fix my baby up and have him runnin and looking good :D

    oh, btw

i dont think spray paint will help at this point, the rust is pretty much all the way through, everywhere where it is rusted. my leafs are sitting neutral in the driveway, when i say slight positive, i mean SLIGHT, barely above neutral they are almost flat. Ill take a pic in a few mins of my leafs and the rusty hole.

So i just need to measure my leafs and find something compairable to them?

I have no idea where its leaking, there so much oil underneath it but there is some around the top of the engine, i guess it would be cover. I add oil pretty frequently.

Whenever they give me my bonus, its going to the shop for the leak.

 Hi Nicky. Did the trainer job come through...We went on vacation and I didn't keep up with the BS thread.

With your new shocks, if the leafs aren't broken, I'd focus on the engine leaks first. Once you know what that is and how much it'll cost to repair, you'll have a better idea of what kind of funds you have for replacing the springs. There are probably a few different options at varying prices...I'm sure Ray will be able to point you in the right direction. And I'm thinking Ray is talking about some sort of rust inhibiting paint as an interim measure...it'll slow down the rust until you can get the hole repaired.

That's my 2 cents any way. Good to see you on here.

Oh...how's the paracord bracelet business going?

im not to sure on that guy, ive talked to him before when looking for a truck, he wasnt really willing to negotiate at all with me, and hes kinda priced high imo...hes kinda a taco dealer, he usually has a few.

If i clean up the rust i will be taking chunks off my truck in order to get it all and stop it from rusting.

Leafs arent a big concern, just something i noticed, but since ray said he sits flat too, im not too worried about it. soon as i get my raise blackie will be in the shop the next day. theres a mom and pop shop down the road, he works on classics and hot rods mainly, he does good body work, so i figured i swing by and see what he says. But engine is deffinitly first on the list, then the rust i guess.

EDIT: it hasnt overheated at all to my knowledge, the PO said it didnt and is hasnt since ive had it. Im pretty good about checking the fluids often, i top it off when it gets low. Im hoping its just a leaky gasket
