    Incorrect, 7 will use fewer resources than XP, especially when Aero is disabled.

    Win 7 uses far more memory than XP. Run Win 7 on a single core processor and 1GB of ram, tell me what happens

    That's why with new pcs that have celeron's in them with 2GB of ram still run like crap

    Install XP and win 7 side by side, view the task manager and tell me which one is using fewer resources.... I bet I know the answer...

    Edit: Celerons will always run like crap, no matter the OS

    Hmm maybe I'm confused, why is it that a win 7 machine with 4GB of ram shows 1.5 being used with nothing running?

    Yea celeron's I know do, but speed wise are close in comparison to pentiums 4's aren't they?

    Turn off Aero and that 1.5 will go down, while the requirements for amount of RAM did increase for Windows 7, it utilizes it much more efficiently than XP did.

    Speed doesn't do much for you when the cache is zilch...

    Yea that I understand, efficiency is much better with win 7. My work computer doesn't allow me to turn anything off, can barely look at the task mgr
