    i did :D got one on black friday, just need to get the adapter to get the stuff off my old HD then sell the old one for whatever i can get. I have a feeling if the battery and or the cord is replaced it will work.

    i would pull the old hd and then connect it to the new laptop and copy. You only have to copy it once.

    The external drive gives you the option to have a backup copy.

    That's exactly what I'm saying. Back the data up with the external HD, then hook the drive up via the adapter/cradle and copy it over.

    If something happens while he's copying then he's covered with the backed up data.

    We're on the same page. :thumbsup:

    I just keep all of mine on my WD drive and it's with me all the time. All of the really sensitive info is stored in an encrypted WinRAR file that would be impossible to hack. :D
