So, let's say someone wanted a 2nd gen LT kit, 16in +. have you fabbed one up, and what would that cost?

haha matt, that was funny. I didn't even realize that the further out your wheels are the harder it is on the rack. I guess my stock rack is still alive because its only 3.5 over and i try not to drift in the dirt too much :D

6'' over? that's pretty far out if i'm not mistaken? the tc kits are about half that, correct?

but is that favorable? i always thought: the farther out, the more difficult it is to keep from breaking at where it connects to the frame? please correct me if im wrong.

Yes & no, if you're going to go all out with a kit like this you're going to be sure to gusset & reinforce all the points.

Another thing to worry about is your steering rack (which will most likely have to be replaced) if you're going to be 6" over. Should be awesome when completed tho

Sorry I haven't replied more but I just moved and my Internet has been down transferring to my new place. Beefing up the steering won't be as expensive as a Howe rack. I dont make my living by gouging you guys. The more I sell the better. I know offroading is expensive, but I do my best to keep my prices down. I should have the steering worked out by the need of this year maybe before Christmas. Hint hint. I am in the process of a lt kit for the second gen 5 lugs and I should have pics of the cad drawings for a lift spindle for the second gen tacomas. The spindle will work with the total chaos lt kit. We got some impressive numbers but I won't say until it's fully worked out. Plans are to replace the steering tie rods with full heim steering. We should have it on a truck in the next few weeks. So keep your eyes out for a new posting on that. I will have this 5 lug kit on my truck also. We will be doing a shake down run in the coming weeks do I will have pics and if anyone wants to go just let me know.
Also frame gusseting is a good idea when building lt which all my kits do and included with each kit. Safety is a huge priority with my suspension design. I don't want any injuries because of broken parts. That's why I replace the spindle on all my kits.
I'll keep updating as soon as I have pics.

Phenomenal information from everyone. Thank you kindly. Unfortunately,I just realized my truck is not only a 2nd gen, but a 6 lug, which makes me very sad. I wanted to check out this kit pretty badly.let me know if you get tempted to make a 6er, Brian...... =(

After finishing out all my projects for the year i finally have time to work on my truck. Its time to dial in my truck and put my 96-04 5 lug tacoma long travel kit on. Its been sitting on my bench starring at me. I got all the mounting points figured out and clearenced out the frame. With the steering hooked up and travel numbers calculated we are pulling 18in of zero bumpsteer free up and down travel. Currently having some steering clevis machined for the tacoma steering rack. Plan on having it on its wheels by friday.
