Gander Mountain has had sales on Federal 525 bulk packs for $23 several times lately. I managed to buy 12 boxes with free shipping (one order at a time). Only 6 of them shipped. The rest ended up being back ordered.

I'd share, but I went through about 10k rounds of .22 last year, and expect to go through even more this year.

Better bet is to create caliber and keyword alerts on Slickguns.com.

People need to stop over paying for 22LR. There's a guy on here selling 5 boxes of 525 for $335 + $30 ship + $10 for pay pal fees? I'm not allowed to bash his thread but I can do it here. All of my local stores had 22LR the other day. $24.99 for a box of 525 which is pretty much the regular price from a few years ago. Same thing he has Remington 22LR Gold bullet

People at the gun shows months ago were selling 525 ct boxes for $80 just to make money during the scare. So should I go buy 5 boxes investing about $135 and turn around and try to make $200 profit off them?

Our gun stores don't have it EVERY time I go, but they get 10-20 boxes in 1-2 times a week and they tell you when the shipments coming. 22LR is a 4-5 cent bullet not 14-15 cents.

If someone wants to buy something and mark it up they're free to do it, what's shitty is when lots of people buy almost all of something and mark it up ridiculously while others are hoarding ridiculous amounts. Now that ammo is becoming much more available I hope some of these sellers and hoarders get stuck with aging ammo in their closet that cost more than what's on the store shelves. My walmart has so much .223/.556 at times that they have to stack it wherever they can find space. I bought enough of each caliber to never stop from going shooting and had enough on hand to sell a little to the needy at my price. Even some black powder supplies got scarce, I had a back order with Cabellas that went a year before being shipped.

I think it is the fact that there are so many new shooters out there buying 10/22 and AR based 22's that hold more than ten rounds. My wife and I both have 10/22's and can burn up a brick of 500 in an afternoon no problem. With my old bolt action .22 it takes me hours to burn through a single box. I think the "hoarders" have been stocked up for years, and are in a position to sell right now. Buy low+sell high='Murica.

Could be a few, but only a few. I just bought 1000rnds for my new .25 off gunbroker and the stuff was 1985 production. I paid $17/box after shipping so he didn't make any real money, he cleaned out old stock. All the new stuff I was finding was $30+. I'll burn this for practice while keeping fresh in it for "just in case".

I've seen many ads for fresh ammo with dates and there are a zillion videos on you tube with guys bragging about how much ammo they've bought during the shortage. Of course these are the guys that are going to 'go to war' against the government and/or zombies for us so it's ok that they hoard.:jerkoff:

The state has not funded any means of providing a system to do these background checks, isn't going to fund anyone the extra money to have extra workers to do the checks. Until they come up with a way to do it that everyone can access for free it just won't work :D

Workers at local walmart and Dick's both said there's no way to really do it. I think if I show them my pistol permit I shouldn't even need it done. I went through 286382 background checks, 4 letters to references and months of waiting. My background checks have been done and I own my 45 and it's on my permit. Why should I need a background check to buy 50 rounds to go plink off at the range? SO STUPID
