    We're thinking that we should be done relativly early since there's about 5 of us evaluating. I told them I need to be out by 3pm, no later, and im only coming from Abbington so it shouldn't be to bad. And I'll be in work cloths too... so don't judge lol

    to many fire fighters were being killed because the weight of the helmets - all variants were snapping necks in an accident.

    Yea, kinda sucks, NFPA put out this whole thing about it, technicly all apparatus are suppose to have a universal helmet mount that keeps the helmets secure in a crash. But it takes so long for that kinda change to happen, I still yell at guys for wearing their helmets on the way to the scene. Other down fall is you have to have 1 mount per fire fighter, so that's up to 6 guys you gotta account for being on the already overly packed truck. It gets viewed as loosing valuable compartment space... *shrug* minor pet peeve of mine.

    Interesting. How heavy are the helmets? Makes me wonder about us being required to wear helmets in the Rallycross races I go to, I'm used to having a sore neck after bouncing around all day.

    Depends on the type. My leather is significantly heavier then my 1044. But it's still added weight on a set of bones that is easy to damage.

    Yeah, it really makes me wonder what would happen if I rolled the car. It's a damn shame too that the safety device designed to protect against the helmet breaking your neck is so expensive most weekend warriors can't afford it.
