Pretty much... had some guy screaming at me last night. Drove a kid home to his dads house in Jersey. Caught a red light and was getting screamed at by this guy. Poor kid was shaken. Half tempted to strip a few stickers off the truck.

Finally got the UCA’s replaced with JBA HD’s, even assembled the roof rack today too.

 

Welp. Forgot to check the back spacing once we finished. Go ahead of myself and found out today that I did in fact need the spacers. Thankfully it was a quick fix! Even happy with the new look

Now just need to get it in for an alignment

 

Few days late but photo dump of the roof rack fiasco

Saturday was a fight. We got everything marked out, I mistakenly forgot it was four holes per foot but we adapted. got all 8 holes drilled, all was going well till the final two squish rivet things. They refused to fully squish. (Yes. Squish). One went so bad it just twisted instead of squishing. After some hoagies and total frustration we decided to come back Sunday afternoon with plan b.So we sealed up the holes to make sure I wasn't going to become a submarine with the T-storms overnight.


Sunday was a day of success!!
Dennis went to work drilling out the two failures.

But Dennis was ready with a similar concept.

Within a few moments we were back on track and had the rack mounted and secured!

shout out to @upTOPoverland for all the help!! Can’t wait to bother you with more questions (hopefully not really) when I’m ready to do the AlphaEx!

 

Even squeezed in a front alignment... (shop did a full alignment for me anyway, it’s nice when the owners a life member at your station)

Next up, addressing the cap, the exhaust and to save up for the rear rack.

I'm looking to create a list of places to go exploring, FRO is one of the top ones, but I also am looking for campsites that I can drive to, set up camp, possibly go off-roading, hiking, etc.

First trip!
Night 1 got here way to late to set up so spent it on a bunk... in a cabin.

night 2 set up and ready to test it out...

 

progress is being made... T-10 days till major step, two smaller items on the way...

 

1. 12th cap goes for painting.
2. 12th pelican cases arrive for mounting to the cab roof rack.
3. Update for alarm system module has arrived - need to install.
4. the cap comes back - need to get liner and Thule rails installed.
   
5. Just need to order the rear rack than at this point, with a mount for the spare tire!
   
6. Annnnd schedule my inspection for this month
