I'm running 12" Fox 2.0 Smoothies. The advantage of using the bolt on shock relocate kit it that you can buy a non-specific 12" extended travel at a much lower cost than the Tacoma specific shocks.

I'm not entirely sure that I will need the extended travel, I'm not doing the blacks and crazy shit anymore. Greens, blues, exploring stuff. So would I really need to do the extended and relocate kit?

Probably not required. But the extended travel is super nice to have.

    Group Buy ends today

Edit: I haven't done of the super crazy stuff either....yet.

Heh... That is fair, but I can't jump in on the group buy unfortunatly. This replacement will likely have to hold out until I can get some money stashed away after the holidays are done and over with.

    Think these will do?
    https://www.headstrongoffroad.com/store/p82/OME_Nitrocharger_Sport_Rear_Shocks_(PAIR)_-_60091.html

Edit: Marie did say they would work with it, "You can run the OME nitrocharger sport rear shocks. They were designed to be used with the OME Dakar pack but have a conservative extended length so will limit the droop of the pack. The upside of that is, since they are the limiting factor, longer brake lines are not necessary."

The min reason to put on a King or Fox shock is better ride, on or off road,.the adjustment available let's you set it up for your truck, not whatever generic 2nd gen OME is assuming.

Wringing an extra 2" of travel out of your leaf pack is also nice, but you won't notice that unless you're wheeling.

Given my limited availability to actually go out and wheel on a regular basis, it does not seem to be needed then, especially since it's my primary vehicle I'll stick with the OMEs unless at some point I decide to make the truck a strickly wheeling vehicle.

It's an investment for sure. IMO, going to King or Fox in all four corners is worth while even for a street only truck, it's mandatory for a trail rig.

But once you do the DD mod there's a bunch of other stuff to do too.

Truth be told that is why I want to go with the OME in the rear, I already have them in the front, figured I should keep them all the same. These are to replace the Billi's from quite a few years back, that were hand me down's. I've got no complaints with the front OME's thus far. I also don't have the funding to afford Kings or Fox right now. They'd cost me two pay checks and then some, that I just can't justify it.

(still just a part time "fire inspector")

The "secret" is to wait for serious sales on black friday, or people upgrading their trucks to LT and dumping mid-travel parts cheap.

Oh I know, lol. But I have no personal justification for spending that much regardless of Black Friday deals and I really am trying to remove any and all hand-me-down parts at this point (aside from the cap). I can justify the $250.00 for this, I cannot justify upwards of a minimum $900.00 even with the Black Friday Sales that are usually only around 25% off, just because I "may" need it at some point... if that point comes, where I can comfortably afford that heafty of a replacement, then I will go down that road.
