Not sure if this is the appropriate thread to ask this question, but I don't wanna create a new thread just for it.

I recently installed a Pioneer Gm-d9705 and I kept the factory HU. I was planning on "bypassing" the factory rear channels by using a PAC Lp7-2. Using the 2 channel output of the LOC to feed the amp, since the amp is capable of summing the output channels.

Do any of you guys think this will work fine? I know I could've used a 4 channel LOC but I really don't want anything to do with that factory rear signal and I don't wanna spend tons of cash on a DSP.

Did this end up working for you? Considering doing the same thing because I'm tired of my kids yelling for the song to be louder. Their preferred volume in the back seat is pretty extreme in the front seat.

Yes. It sure did for my setup. As long as the multi-channel amp you're using for the speakers allow for two channel input. The only negative is that you lose the Front/Rear fade adjustment on the Head Unit. All four speakers will receive the same level power for a much fuller sound all around which should be nice and loud for your kids in the back.

What is funny is when I made that post I was focused on trying to create a full loud sound everywhere, however because I have an Access Cab, the final result was not what I was hoping for. So what I finally settled for was bridging the four speaker channels and only powering the front door speakers and dash tweeters. The rear door speakers are power by head unit power. The volume and headroom on the front speakers sounds great now and are super loud.
