Would it bust your shin if you were standing too close while opening the door?

Well in order to open your door you have stand back to get the door open.

I absolutely love mine. Not the best for offloading with mud. If your stayin on the streets you can't get better steps. Get more complements on them than any other mod

Sorry, I meant if your garage was narrow and it was a tight fit. My daughter is 5 and barely reaches the door handle, is why I'm asking. Is there a switch to disable them?

Looks like they'd work good for door ding protection if you left them extended when parked. And does keyless entry trigger them or just the door pins when door is opened?

No there is not a "switch" to disable them. once they are down you can put your foot on the step and shut the door and they will stay down. Great for when washing your vehicle.

They are great for door ding protection, but no they do not open until you open the door.

Did you miss this in post #17?

"And they have a safety feature that allows you to put them down with the door closed. if you put your foot on the step and close the door they will stay down. Great for when you are washing your truck"

Wouldn't this work and allow you to walk away with them down until you came back got in truck and closed the door?

    PcHearn..

Could you possibly post more pics of the steps down and the doors open?

It looks like because of the universal length for AC/DC that the DC rear passengers wouldn't have much to step on.

Would it also be possible to move the entire step back so as to "Center" them on the truck?

    Thanks! :D

I'm the one that origionally wrote that.

And yes you could leave them down and walk away and they will stay down until you reopen the door and then close it without your foot on them.

But the only way to make the step come down is by opening the door. You could have problems if the keyless entry made them come down. Might hit someone walking by or someone waiting to get in your truck.

You can move the steps forward or backwards to fit your needs. Once you loosen the bolts under the step you just slide it to where you want it and then tighten your bolts back up

Misfit - With ppham444's excellent video and Cowboyz explanation about moving the step, my pictures probably won't help. But if you still want to see them, they are in the Member Galleries under PCHearn. I guess you have access to my pictrues there. These steps are expensive, but they are the best ones out there.

    Thanks guys for the responses!

Ideally I m looking for a top looking down picture of what you would see getting into the rear of the truck. Basically to see how much step is available to actually use.

It would appear at first glance that the rear pass would be stepping on or near the end of the running board. If you moved it too far back then the driver might have the same problem?

The running boards are long enough to fit people stepping into the front and back. Worrying about having to adjust it back and forth is not necessary.

Looking down on the steps, you will fully see the steps. Remember, these steps swings down and away from the truck so you will fully use the width of the steps.

I have these running boards on my Tacoma. When I step into the front, my foot is about 18-20 inches from the front of the running board. When I step into the back, my foot is about 16-18 inches from the back of the running board. The back of the running board is even with the place where the back seat bottom meets the back seat back. In other words, if you draw a line straight down along the front of the back seat cushion (what you lean back against), that is where the back end of the running board is. According to Cowboyz, you could move the entire running board back about 6 inches. I believe it would actually look a little better than it does normally. But even if you leave it where it normally is, there is no problem at all with stepping into the back. I hope this helps.

Is it possible to use these amp power steps with a 3inch body lift?? I really want them cause i'm at 12" lift and 37's with no rails right now but my girlfriend can't get in unless i help her up every time lol and i'm getting sick of it.

I'm scared with a 3inch body lift these might look silly
