I have an amp rack under my driver's seat. The bolt holes are in the rear. It looks similar to the one in the picture below. @5nahalf noted in another thread that he had placed amps under his passenger seat after flipping a bar upside down. If I remember correctly, he said he had made his own amp rack. I just finished flipping the bar. It took maybe 10min. 14mm socket for the 4 seat bolts and a T40 for the 4 bolts holding in the bar and the seatbelt bracket. The seatbelt bracket covers the other bolt. None of the wiring on the seat needs to be disconnected to do this.

There may be some added rubbing of some wiring between the seat and this bar after flipping but I don't think it'll be a problem long term. If you're reading this post in a year or so, send me a message for an update.

Question: Is the rear bolt pattern the same on both seats? Will one of these amp racks fit properly on the passenger side?

any updates on this amp rack under the passenger seat? did you have to invert the bar? was there a ground location as like on the driver side?

    Yeah don't do it.

Everything fits but... Flipping that rail causes problems with the airbag pressure sensor. The light that comes on when too little pressure is on the seat now comes on even when there is an adult sitting there.

If you have any ideas to remedy this I'm happy to try it out.

I just mounted a AudioControl D6.1200 under the passenger seat using this amp rack and I had no issues. Modifications needed were 1 1/2" Seat Jackers and I cut the front tabs a half inch or so back. I made sure I didn't need to do a bar flip, etc., by measuring the amp prior to purchase. Tight but fits well. I want to say that the amp is 2" tall or so.

Stock ground location is near front mounting points, so no need to go far for a grounding point.

sure looks like it, as I just got a hold of one. As I posted in another thread, the passenger under seat rear bar hinders a lot accessibility/real estate.

I ordered front seat rear risers to see how much clearance I can get.

Lifted both. There are several connectors for the airbags, etc., and you need to do both for the clearance if you don't want to relocate the connectors or mod the seat if you have an amp that is close to 2" high or higher. I want to say the rears were at 1.5" or so to ensure there was enough clearance to slide front to back without hitting anything. I'll see if I can't post some pics.

Here are some pics of under the passenger seat. The front of the amp had the connectors resting on the top of the amp, so I lifted the front to keep the connectors from scratching the amp and more importantly from breaking the connectors for the airbag, etc. The rear as you can see has almost no clearance even with lifting it 1.5 inches in the rear because of the rear bar. Since the seat jackers interfered with the front arms of the amp rack, I trimmed them a half inch or so. This amp is about as large as you can go without clearance issues as the sides were tight against the seat rails as well; AudioControl D6.1200 is what I am using if you want to use it for reference. Full write up coming as I did a full JBL replacement install including sound deadening, acoustic foam, Focal speakers, Focal sub, and a Pioneer 6600NEX.

Pardon my ignorance here. What is the purpose of running the amp rack? To keep the amp off the carpet and aid in cooling? I've got a Kenwood amp I'm planning on mounting under the driver's seat and wasn't planning on doing a dedicated piece of metal underneath. My plan was to simply put a cheap plastic cutting board under the carpet and screw into that sandwiching the carpet in between, but I'd be curious to know the purpose for this.

    Thanks!

There is a vent there. Rather than block it off I put the amp rack over it so it can still be functional.

Excellent. Makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the quick response.

I've been running a Rockford fosgate 1200 under the driver side seat for 2years, never had any issues. I think I slapped velcro on it so it didn't slide, but that was it. I was curious what the need for a rack was as well.

I just did the very same thing. Got the taco tunes rack and a JVC 1000w amp. Mounted under driver seat in my 2019 Sport access cab. No seat jackers just stock seat height. Left bar alone. Everything fits perfectly, no airbag warnings in or out of seat. Focal speakers front & rear plus JL Audio stealthbox 10" subwoofer between rear seats. Sounds so good! Did everything myself over two days. 4ga wiring. Ran it through firewall plug near brake unit. If I had to do it again I would just pay a shop $300 to do the install lol. Used a rack since I won't drill my truck...

It would probably also be no bueno to heat the running amp with hot air from that vent...
That said, the rack is kinda eye candy but you’ll never see it. I achieve the same with 4 skateboard wheels and velcro.

edit: I flipped the bar under the seat with no problems
