a friend has these on his jeep. granted the jeep is lifted, big wheels and big mud tires. needless to say, they are broken since the tires throw up mud/dirt/water right into the hinge motor.

if your going to do any off roading, stay away. if your a pavement princess it shouldn't be an issue.

I have it on my truck. It actually works as a step. I love it, my son, my wife and I can get on the truck without struggling. It opens to the perfect height to get in and out. It started to have problems with the pasenger side, some times it opens and some times it doesnt.

6 inch Douche Bag lift...what else do I need?
I had some on my truck (6 inch lift) so my 7 year old daughter could get in the truck. They work well are really solid and handy but the snowy winters here kill the motors. AMP was great about sending me free motors when they would go out (about every other year). I went wheeling with them in Moab and had a few scrapes on them and decided to get sliders before I destroyed them. $1000 destroyed steps would not have been cool. If you wheel...don't do it. If you don't and don't live in a snowy/salty area, go for it.

They are also acceptable on f250s with dual Fox shocks and a 12 inch lift...

Agreed. You are the one paying for and driving it, do what makes the most sense to you. I do things to my truck others might think strange.

I wanted them for my wife but after noticing the lack of tucking, like someone pointed out and price I decided against them. 3" lift just isn't big enough to justify it. I found two other styles I'm contemplating

I had them on my 05 double cab for a little over two years I have never had a problem with them and it helped my little girl get in and out of the truck it is lifted 6" so I had peace of mind of her getting out more than in they worked great for her and to be very honest they just worked great for me and my fat ass. Like most people said I would not purchase them if you wheel your truck they are not made for that type of adventure. The only problem I had was at the install, the guy that did the installation did not put them on correctly so I had to go to AMP and they fixed it free of charge, so get someone who knows how to adjust these and put them on correctly they have designated shops to install them, the guy I had do mine said he knew how to install them, Bullshit. They do stick out a little and thats something you have to get use to but the step lights kick ass at night works great just keep the hinges sprayed with silicone. I just recently took them off and repleaced them with bolt on sliders my little one can just make it in now so I wanted something that would add to the protection of the side of the truck I already have front and rear plates. I do wish at times they were still on the truck they worked so great for a lifted truck and I find the sliders do not make good steps so maybe I changed a little to soon, daughter is having a hard time getting in and out now. All in all if you have a lifted truck and do not wheel but have a family with small childeren they are priceless.

I'm looking at a set of bolt on sliders her on the forum, and there's a set of oem steps a member has that I like as well.
