    Hi,

Is there a way to mount an amplifier on a 2008 stereo? I'd like to keep it stock and just add a subwoofer

What he said. In short you'll need to tap into the speaker wires behind the headunit or somewhere before the doors, add a converter that changes the output of the speaker wire into RCA outputs, and then you have a source for your sub amp.

All that being said I wouldn't do it, I'd swap to an aftermarket headunit. A lot of those converters, even the expensive ones, are hit or miss and it sucks doing all that work just to have a weird hum or delay in your sub. If you use an aftermarket headunit, which only takes a couple of hours to swap in, you'll have at least one dedicated sub out and likely built in controls to help adjust/tune the output to the amp as well as the manual controls on amp. That way you can tinker with the sub until your happy.

Thanks for your reply, in fact I'd like to add the JBL Bassprosl which is a pre amplified subwoofer
So bad for the headunit I like the oem ones especially because of the steering wheel controls

All good man, just trying to help you out.

It's really easy to keep the steering wheel controls with an aftermarket head unit. You just tap in a little module, I use the Axxess version, and you keep all your steering wheel controls. I've had to many bad experiences trying to match up aftermarket equipment to stock head units to recommend doing that.
