I am going to be purchasing two jl 13tw5s for my 09 Tacoma DC. I believe these subs are rated at 600 watts rms and 1200 peak. I have seen on here and youtube that people running 2 of these usually have 2 jl 500/1s or 1 1000/1. I have an amp im not sure many people have heard of unless you're really into car audio. Its a Mmats 2000.1 but its rated at like 1500watts. I called the local shop in town and asked if this amp could be used on those two jls without blowing them and he told me that I could that I just wouldnt be able to turn it up quite as loud. The only reason I'm contemplating this is cuz it would save me sum cash and I would put a jl amp on them down the road (probably the end of summer). So opinions would I be overpowering them with my amp? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sport wheels added.
It's easier to tear a speaker apart by UNDERPOWERING it than overpowering it. You'll only be able to get so much out of it no matter how much power you put to it. If you are cranking it that much to get what you want, you need a different set up.

You'll be fine. Just make sure your enclosures are air tight and solid (no flex).

i think that amp will be fine. the stereo shop probraly carries jl in its product line, so of course only a jl could power it. if you really dont want that amp you could give it to me and i'll put it to good use:D

Haha I would try to work something out selling you my amp but I got a complete system in my mustang so I'm not really looking to sell it. But if you need a lot of power in a small amp i highly recommend MMats. Like I said earlier most people haven't heard of that brand unless they are really in to car audio but they make very good amps and subs though.
