Hit 50k miles, doing a transmission drain & flush in my garage. This is what Amsoil ATF Signuture looks like after 25k miles in my 2017 Tacoma. I previously done a complete drain & flush just shy of 25k miles on odometer. Complete flush of Toyota WS via draining, topping off, tapping trans cooler line, crank over, repeat. However this time around instead of draining out 10-11 quarts, I just drained and replaced 6 quarts since the Amsoil had plenty of life remaining. I’m quite happy with the Amsoil ATF Signature. Likely do next 6 quart flush at 75k(if Taco is still around, eyeballing Tundras at the moment).

FYI, I mall crawl in Texas heat, tow a single axle utility trailer with SXS 3000 lbs gross a few times a year on 6-7 hour road trips. My scangauge TF1 & TF2 hangs out about 195-203 normally while driving. Sometimes it’ll go up to 208 on occasion with my spirited driving. While towing it’ll sit about 198-205, but will jump up to 215 if I attempt to pass or going on prolonged incline.

Didn’t get better pics(down below) back then at 25k miles, but you can see in pics the Toyota WS fluid is darker. I remember seeing much darker red color. It wasn’t burnt at all, just deeper red. The first pic below from left to right:
Gallon of WS with 25k miles first few quarts, gallon from return line(using as drip can), gallon with WS & Amsoil ATF Sig finally pushing thru at transcooler, paint bucket with fresh sample of Amsoil ATF Sig.

you should send in a sample to a company like blackstone. The color doesn't really tell much. All fluids will get darker with heat.

Yep not exactly science what I'm doing, just visual from my point of view. My previous 2007 Tacoma is currently over 250k miles without issues. I never touched the transmission fluid ever, been riding the same fluid since day one. On this 2017, decided to do transmission fluid drain and check the fluid level from factory.

    Nice, looks brand new.

Reminds me back in the day when I started using synthetic engine oil. I’d change it every 5k miles and give it to my buddy who ran it another 8k miles, no joke. His truck ran to 440k miles before he sold it.

My point is with a synthetic ATF like Amsoil, you can go way beyond 25k, as you pointed out.

I have used Amsoil in my previous 2 trucks, as well as my Tacoma. I had a 2001 Dodge Cummins diesel that I bought brand new, used Amsoil Heavy Duty Diesel & Marine oil and Fleetguard filters from day one. I sold the truck in 2015 with 145K miles on it. I changed oil at 10K mile intervals, and filters every 5K. Guy I sold it to was a professional mechanic at a BMW dealership, bought it to tow his race cars to the local track on weekends. About a month after I sold it to him, he emailed me some pictures, he had taken the head off the engine to do an internal examination. You could still see the original factory hone marks in the cylinder walls.... after 15 years and 145K miles.

I won't make some outlandish claim that Amsoil is better than oxygen or sliuced bread. But, with that evidence, I will happily continue to use Amsoil products for as long as they are made, and I can afford them :spending:
