What’s the point sir? Why do people care if someone uses a different oil, especially when they say they are all essentially the same? They aren’t barking to warn you from doing something that will ruin your engine, right? Why do they care if someone spends a bit more money on their oil change? These people don’t owe this person money and choose to get expensive oil changes rather than paying them back, are they? NOTHING positive about Amsoil could certainly be correct? Really? Personally, I think Project Farm is worth trusting and I’m not alone. Me and 2,160,000 other subscribers think so too and how many aren’t subscribers? When Mr Troll can point out some facts versus opinions he will have my ear. Hell, even 100 subscribers and 100,000 views will get my attention.

This is why giving everybody a trophy isn’t the best idea.

I like the pouch system Amsoil got for their gear oil, the differential area can be a pain do do with a funnel and a hose, you almost need someone to help you. So that's why I'm a fan of ease of use...but even within "premium" category there are some differences...in the end it's our choice...

    Fair enough.

I wouldn’t use like Kirkland 0w20 but stuff like pennzoil or Mobil, sure. When I did my diffs, I got this cheap pump from Amazon and it worked fine for me.

I did use red line in my diffs and tranny though, so I can extend the intervals.

Don't trust the manufacturer! Instead trust some random person on the internet!

I plan to use the Kirkland in my Tacoma and Cobra for their next oil changes. Not worried about.

Brand wars. Oil wars. I've seen it for 21+ years, will see it another 21+ hopefully :D:rofl::thumbsup:

Listen, use want you want. It's a (pretty) free country. I just don't get the whole "feeling good about talkin' someone out of XYZ oil" thing.

    Another oil thread.......:annoyed:
So I will just say Amsoil is great but not a ton better than other brands out there. if you change your oil regularly they will all likely be good enough except maybe store brand oil from Dollar General, but if you have a $40k truck you shouldn't be buying motor oil there.
Even the big box store brands are good quality oil. Kirkland, Supertech and Amazonbasics are made by Warren distribution and are good products. look on bobs oil guy forums you will see. I'm even thinking of using Supertech.

But hey use what you like if it makes you feel all good inside, Amsoil won't hurt anything except make your wallet thinner.

It looks like Amsoil makes a very good product based on oil analysis reports. I've never used it because I already have a religion. If you've ever encountered a dyed-in-the-wool Amsoil rep, you know what I mean.

Oil. Put some in. Change it once in a while. Your engine will live as long as the guy who changes his oil every 100 miles.

    Fact.

Im sure that oil is fine, I just can’t buy the cheapest oil for the truck that I spent 50k on. Makes me sleep better I guess haha.

    Awww.....c'mon.

Everyone know that the oil brands I use are best. Valvoline, Pennzoil, Quaker State. Plus they don't drain my wallet.

If Amsoil is so good, then why isn't it available at Walmart????

Anecdotally Mobil 1 5w-30 had a pretty poor reputation in the turbo Subaru world circa-2007 for spinning bearings. It was very susceptible to shearing and would case headaches.

Granted the turbo EJ had a host of oil related issues, but there was a distinct trend on M1 5w-30 causing headaches.

I just ran what was getting the best UOA results at the time and doing my own UOAs, marketing meant crap for me.

I've found Mobile 1 oil at home depot for as low as $6.50 a quart.

If OEM parts are the best why aren’t they available at Walmart? Really, if ANYTHING not available at Walmart can’t be considered good or the best, lol.

I trust me, I certainly don't believe that a manufacturer is there to make a buck has my interests in their heart...but you can go ahead and do that. You see ,I plan on keeping my truck extra long time. Others , like I read here some like to trade up to 2022 or whatever...
