Amsoil made a believer out of me, and it only took 45 years.

I've been running Synthetic fluids for over 40 years, but never ran Amsoil because I could not just walk into a store and buy it.

A friend talked me into buying some from him, so I said ok!

When I bought the 2020 SR in late 2019, I installed new 10 ply tires a few weeks later.

The tires were on the noisey side, so I changed the rear diff with some RedLine synthetic 75/90. It helped but I could still hear it at highway speed.

A few days back I installed Amsoil 75/110 and the noise is almost gone.

I guess the tires transfer the noise thru the diff and into the cab. The Amsoil has seemed
    to dampen the vibs/noise.

So I'm very pleased with the Amsoil.

I guess my question would be how can you prove it's the brand vs the change in viscosity. I would think the difference there far outweighs the difference in additives from Amsoil vs any other brand of the same weight spec.

I’ve used redline in my diffs and tranny. No vibes at all, just a very faint hum at 55-60, can barely hear with windows down and music off.

My buddy with a 19 OR wants to convert to amsoil all of a sudden, says someone he knew told him that’s it’s the best oil.

No dought it's the best, but it's harder to find and cost too much. I still think Pennzoil Ultra Platinum is the best for the money. I will continue to use it in the engine.

FYI, About 25 years back I ran Redline MTL in my Toyota 85 4x4. A year after the change, the trans lost a couple of bearings.
I tore down the trans and replaced all of the bearings with new Japanese replacements. Put in new MTL and two years later I had bearing noise again.

This time I took it to Marlin Crawler and had him rebuild the trans with a very low
first gear added, and a 2nd transfer case. When I asked about the bearing noise, they told me it was a lack of lubrication. I ran Q State 75/90 after that, and the trans went another 12 years without issue.

I would not waste my time trying to prove anything. I just know it works for me.

I did full amsoil fluid change and the whine on my truck went away, I have been using Amsoil for the last 6 years in all my trucks, I turned into a believer when I had my 03 Chevy 2500 with 496 big block always had low oil pressure with other oils went to amsoil and oil pressure increased, traded that truck in for my taco with 185,000 miles was still running strong no mechanical issues with motor. Amsoil is the best.

Picked up a mile per gallon switching over to all Amsoil in my 3/4 ton truck, pretty good for a 4 ton vehicle.

Multi level marketing at its best. Amway for men. I also heard that Amsoil cures covid and cancer at the same time.

Interesting. I’ve had redline MT90 in my tranny and diffs for about a year and it’s good so far. Tranny seem to be a bit smoother.

I am also a big fan of Amsoil, but for a different reason.

I started using Amsoil engine oil and gear lubes around 1996 or 1997 in a Ford diesel pickup I had. I sold that truck in 2000 and bought a brand new Dodge Cummins. I immediately went to all Amsoil oil and lubes in that vehicle. I sold that truck in 2015 (142K miles on it) to a guy who is a professional mechanic and a local race car driver (midgets, street stocks). I had never had any work done on the engine during the entire time I owned that truck. The new owner wanted to do a pretty thorough assessment of it, so after he bought it, he took the head off to check the internals. The Cummins (at least the 1999-2002 model year engine) is a sleeveless cylinder block. The new owner asked me what oil I had been using in the truck, I told him Amsoil. He texted me a couple pictures of the insides of the cylinders, where even after 142K miles, you could still easily see the original factory cylinder hone marks. That made me feel quite good about my years of using Amsoil products.

I realize this doesn't mean that Amsoil is magic, and all other synthetics could not have done the same, but it did prove to me that Amsoil is a very good product. I have never used Mobil-1, Royal Purple, Redline, or any other synthetics, so I can't make any statements as to how effective other brands are.

Amsoil makes a good product. So does many other manufacturers.
For the 117th time, I have never ever heard of a motor that failed due to the name of the brand of oil. Use approved oil. Use correct viscosity. Change it at regular intervals. That's all. Brand is unimportant.
The OP got results because he changed viscosity, not because it is Amsoil.

Nothing wrong with the product. It is oil. The issue is that they fill your head full of nonsense to make it sound superior and that comes at a price. The price is the pyramid scheme that it is. Who are the people saying it is great? Those that are selling it. They convince the buyer that their product is superior so they keep buying it and more importantly start selling it so they get a cut. That is how it works. The prime target is someone that is fanatical about their cars, but doesn't have a lot of technical knowledge. Amway and herbal life are the same way. Decent products at inflated prices to cover the pyramid. That isn't to say that traditional marketing isn't better. Lord knows that Mobil makes money touting their products. The difference is they don't rely on someone that really doesn't know a whole lot to make outrageous claims that really can't be supported.

If you want to see the ridiculousness of multi level marketing look at this property - 19 S Roscoe Blvd, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082 | Redfin The owner sold amway.

I went full amsoil last 30k service, can't tell one iota of difference except substantially less money in my bank account.

I did save one of the flexy bags to fill with oil from a rigid bottle for next service, that's the only thing amsoil has going for it. As soon as someone starts manufacturing a fluid transfer pump that doesn't suck balls, I'll toss the amsoil flexy bag.
