So, I went and picked up a pair of these guys today. Trying this thing they call running out. Normally I use a stability shoe due to overpronation. I'm walking around in them to get used to a minimalist shoe and my God they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned!

That's why I'm wearing them and walking around in them now. I'm mostly walking with short runs in between right now. Goal is to build up to a 10K. I live right next to a park with over 12 miles of trails so after work I'm going to be hitting it up.

Having run in cross trainers before and suffered shin splints bad I got fitted with stability shoes and the difference it made was amazing. The shoes I got today feel amazing just walking around. I've wanted to go minimalist for a while but couldn't stomach wearing the Vibram Five Fingers. And I picked them up for $85. Roadrunner VIP + 10% Military discount FTW!

I enjoy the scenery and it gives me a few hours out of the day with no Blackberry and other assorted things that make me want to go get my homicidal on.

Thankfully my knees are still in pretty good shape at 34. I do take glucosamine to aid the cartilage in the joints. I by no means enjoy running but it's good exercise. I prefer swimming and cycling but the pool on base is closed right now and I don't get the same feeling from cycling and I really need to get back into shape...
