analytical vs non-analytical

so, a woman asks her husband to go to the store and she says, "get a gallon of milk, and if there are eggs, get 6."

the husband came home with 6 gallons of milk.

how would you interpret the wife's request?
what would you have come home with?

 

I would return with bacon... and beer.

 

I wouldn't go, I'd tell her to go get her own damn milk and than make me a sandwich

Well just reading it, i would have got 6 eggs bc they were the items listed directly before the "get 6" statement..... However i dont see why a man would be shopping for eggs and milk but then again a woman only has one road to work on and it goes from the kitchen to the laundry room

 

I would get a gallon of milk and 6 eggs. Now if that could not be understood someone should not be trusted with children.

 

Could've been strategic: come home with 6 gallons of milk, never asked to shop for groceries again.

 

And wash just ONE red sock in the whites....

 

And you wonder why you get no sammich (and nothing else either) until that milk is gone...

But for real, you can't take a women's words literally. You need to think what she may have meant. Gotta use a little bit of sense. Who needs 6 gallons of milk?

The key to marriage is staying out of the dog house as much as possible, so...

 

The real question is who the hell buys 1/2 carton of eggs? Around here they are sold by the dozen unless your at a farm.
