OP, if you take good care of it, like you did with your a Tacoma, it will serve you well.
To get $22K for your 08, you obviously maintain your vehicles well.
    I've had a Commanche, 2 Wranglers, a Ramcharger, a Dakota, a 2500 2WD, 1500 4WD/ HEMI, all with little to no problems.
I really love my Tacoma, though.
Good luck with your new ride.

Not true. I test drove a VW Thing many years ago. With the news today of one selling at action for $58500, I wish the hell I'd bought the damn THING.

Well, yea. Look for affirmation of your purchase and a wave goodby on the way out of a truck enthusiast forum inhabited by dudes and thats gonna happen. The "gonna miss you" responses happen in the antiqueing and quilting forums. Just sayin'. :D

Sometimes the truth hurts. The facts are what they are. It is a possibility he has a good one, but the odds are against it. I wonder why it was dumped at a low mileage.... The questions are staggering.

Hey guys, thanks for all the comments, it's awesome that you get haters and sensible non-haters to chime in on somebody selling a car.
The GC has seen the dealer 4 times, all for oil changes. It was purchased off a Grandma who used it to commute 12 miles to work each day. Always garaged, the passenger seats and back seats rarely saw any use. I think that a lot of the reasons why people hate and complain on the electronics is because they don't understand how to use them or even bother reading the owners manual. Also, they're lazy and don't do the work themselves or try to troubleshoot the problems, i.e. going on forums and doing shit themselves and figuring out the problems themselves and getting their hands greasy and dirt underneath their fingernails.
Buying a Taco was a great investment, I fully agree. But how come Warren Buffett doesn't drive one? Because he can afford others, and because he's not the right demographic for the Taco. I've grown out of the Taco, and being 36, I want nice shit, and EVERYBODY will be sure to agree that the Taco does NOT have nice shit. Even the POS navi is such an utter waste of money, people will opt to not get it. The GC navi is at least useable, not to mention the heated steering wheel, or the adjustable side mirrors, or the cooled ventilated seats, or the HEMI with 360 hp, or the xenon lights, AND AIRBAGS AND 4 WHEEL DISC BRAKES!! The 08 Tacoma doesn't exactly make you feel safe and sound with family and little ones in the car. The Tacoma is not worth the money, pure and simple. It's only worth it when factoring in the resale value, which I reaped, which is one of the main reasons why I bought it.
But now i'm getting off the rails. I appreciate this forum for the giving me the knowledge and confidence to do all my own maintenance on my vehicle, so at least the tune-ups and troubleshooting I should be ok with on my GC, if/when it comes to it.

Pretty spot on. The tacoma is a good utility truck, that will get you to work on time. For people who need a multitool vehicle, it's perfect. Just like any multi-tool or jack of all trades, it isn't the master of any. For a commuter it sucks in comparison. For a dedicated hauling vehicle it sucks in comparison. For an offered vehicle it sucks in comparison. Etc.....

For someone who likes to take the canoes to the lake one weekend, then dirt bikes to the trails the next weekend, likes to carry around cargo, needs 4x4, drives to work 5 times a week, and can only afford one vehicle, then it's perfect.

Enjoy the new Cherokee OP. I've always liked the looks of them, and have almost bought one on multiple occasions.

Who cares about resale??!! It's not all about actually selling it, it's about owning something that's worth money over something that's not. It's about driving a vehicle that cost the least amount of money to own and operate. Not only is the Tacoma the best bad ass mother f'ing truck, it also happens to come with the best resale value :)

Yeah, the Jeeps are sick looking and nice vehicles... For the first 30k
A lot of girls I work with drive them and seem to like them

I wish I could have quoted more... :pout:

    Ps: spot on SpeedoJosh ^

Thank you for reminding me why I'm about to pay $21k for a taco made in 2007. (That and the <50k miles, TRD Off Road, new frame, etc.)

Stepdad had one, nice vehicle. Died at 100k, not so nice, but damn it was comfy while it lasted.

Gotta say after driving a regular Jeep in Hawaii a few years ago I get the appeal.

Just FYI so you know I'm not a Toyota Fanboy today I bought my wife a 2015 V8 F150 XTR 4x4 Crew Cab. I didn't even look at a Tundra, the Ford was an insane value for the money.

I loved my '11 GC Overland. The newer models were designed during the Daimler years. It's basically a Mercedes. They may not be perfect but I don't think they have the same issues the older gens did. OP, I had the Corsa exhaust on mine. Highly recommend. I miss that v8

There's some interesting financial advice in this thread. It sounds like I should quit my job and just buy and sell Tacomas. If I buy one for $30,000 with a $15,000 down payment then I should be able to be able to sell it right back to the dealer for $25,000. What's great is that I only have a loan for $15,000 so I'll make $10,000 profit. I'm heading to the dealer first thing tomorrow. :D

Also congrats to the OP the Grand Cherokee is a great vehicle. I have a friend that traded in his 4 runner for an GC Overland. They liked it so much that his wife just traded in her car for a GC Summit.
