I went with seat jackers to raise the seats for my amp to clear on the passenger

Interesting build log, it's always amazing the kind of gear everyone collects over the years!

Too bad I didn't put anything but the wiring, ID8s and front door speakers back in use. Had to buy all new amps, DSP and rear speakers so it was still a hefty chunk of change just to deal with the space restrictions.

Hey Carl, great build! Very professional install. I did an entire aftermarket build but now would like to revert to the stock head unit to the aftermarket amps and speakers. I have an LCQ-1 and would like to ask you a couple of questions via DM if that's OK?

The ugly side of removing 5 year old factory stickers. Still ghosting from sun fade but it came out about as good as I could hope for. So many products to get it clean.

I'm seriously thinking about moving the amps under the front seats. I have to send my AC 1.800 in as something internal appears to have gone poof likely from overheating. I don't have enough air circulating where they are mounted now. I'm also going to ditch the 3 8's and go back to a single 10 or pick up a shallow mount 12. The 8's don't have enough low end extension in the limited airspace. At the end of the day I can drop back to a single, not lose anything noticeable and probably regain at leaset one side of the seat storage bin.

Recommend the Sundown SD-4 12”. 4.5” mounting depth and good low end from an 0.8cuft box. My sub amp (JL HD1200.1) under the pass. front seat, and the sub behind the driver.

What was the distance for the subs to flex?

The SD-4 IS Sundown’s SQ sub. But that rec was 2 years ago, and I’d recommend the Hertz MPS slim sub, much better performance.

I would never purchase a sundown piece of equipment. Its all SPL stuff. I'll stick to a TW5 or 3

Different strokes. :notsure::cheers: I haven’t run the SD-4s for a couple years now. Nuked one, and now I use the Hertz MPS300.

Behind the drivers’ rear seat in an 0.8cuft prefab wedge box. An ATrend BBox. Bent the anchor point up, and spaced the lock on the seat back out two ways. On the seat, the latch has a second bolt hole 1/2” further back. Second the latch point on the rear bulkhead spaced out 1/2” with grade 5 bolts and washers. It’s a tight fit, but eliminates any movement from the box.
