I mentioned this on another thread. I received a call a little over a week ago for the exact color and interior 24' Pro that I am waiting for. $15k markup...Hit me with the "this may be the only one we get." Needless to say, I am waiting...Not paying that kind of price.

Found a Ranger Raptor at $30,000 over MSRP. Same thing will happen with RR and TRD Pros, they won’t sell at insane markups.

Look at the Bronco Raptors, dealers can’t move $100,000 units since Ford got cocky. Hopefully Toyota will learn the same lesson.

Not to mention, I would assume the average person buying these is going to take some type of loan on it. I do not know what bank would even lend on a vehicle price more than its' worth. Maybe they will, but that is just crazy to me. So, you are paying that cash or with another loan. Doesn't sound like the best financial decision unless you have tons of play money.

And very functional on a tractor, since tractors don't have suspension.

I'd rather Toyota put the money into better suspension, instead of goofy shock absorbers behind the seats.

Is a customer who paid 50k for a Pro in 2023 even the same customer who is now paying $65k plus markup? I’d say probably not.

But…Toyota correctly sees a market there, and because the truck is so dramatically improved, they’ll likely sell even more Pro’s (and TH’s) while making a lot more per unit.

Which is why they should never hire me into their product planning division b/c apparently I’d be the bozo giving them away at $56k…

You can usually max 120% or so of value on a loan if I remember right, depending on credit source. Its so you can buy a vehicle+tax&title while still upside down on the last one

This is correct, some CU’s will do 125-130% ++ so it will carry the advance unfortunately.

My local dealer still has markups on all new vehicles ($1274, plus $10k for Pros). It's such a turnoff, along with rates, and that a high-yield savings account is paying 5%!

Generally people that have tons of play money have it because they're not idiots. Heard that from a friend.....

Yeah, I’m not knocking it. I was just saying if you were obtaining multiple loans to pay for it, it didn’t sound like the best decision. But who am I to judge, to each their own. I will just wait until the price is right for me.

But if you’re trying to give me a good stock tip, I’m all ears.

Great justification for dealers to charge $5k addendum on 2024 RR.
“Next year the price will be $10,000 more, we are only asking $5,000 less than a 2025 RR, sign right here, press hard you’re making 3 copies.”

I have an observation I think needs validation- there are numerous posts where TW members have received large discounts from dealers on 2024 tacomas - so here goes- Is it possible that Toyota raised the retail price higher while not raising dealer cost as much- hence increasing margin/profit.
This could be a response to the dealer ADM issue that still seems to persist on certain models. Perhaps the TRD Pro cost / margin changed to give dealers greater profit at MSRP. This could explain the huge increase in MSRP on the Pro..

Ok guys, now start blowing holes in my theory……

Maybe. Don’t think anyone has posted “invoice pricing” yet.

Honestly that should be a priority mod for many if not ppf. Way better return on investment than a raptor grille or some rack that never gets used.

I was just making an example and didn’t see your prior responses. But agree, people are quick to drop coin on mods that they will never get back come trade in, except maybe a tonneau cover or ppf since that adds content or keeps the vehicle in better condition. If your gonna spend $1-4k on a lift wheels and tires why not upgrade the truck features and get a better experience and better trade in even ever so slight.
