    Hello!

I just wanted to create this thread as a way of saying thank you to everyone who has made build threads and contributed information to this forum. I took a lot of queues from the forums endless threads about mods, maintenance and how-to's and I thought maybe someone with a similar truck to mine could maybe find my thread useful some day as I go through the process of spending myself into bankruptcy fiddling with things on my truck :D.

Just to be interesting... here is a story!

My first Tacoma was a 2003 Pre-runner and she was awesome. I bought it for $3500 (Canadian :D) and it did pretty well for its first winter. Definitely had some days where I wished I had 4x4 up here in Calgary but it did the trick.

I took it all over the place with my buddy Penny

    To the mountains...

    and the beach!

And before I knew it, my second winter was ending and the truck was serving me really well. I settled in for what would probably be another 4-5 years before I could get something newer. Then a young man who wasn't paying attention gave me a gift!

The gift of running a yield on green and lighting me up 2 minutes from home!

This big old post here went about 3 feet into the bed of my truck. Safe to say that had he not hit me on the left rear of the vehicle and spun me... I'd have hit that post going straight on and I might not be boring you to death with this long winded post.

I was awarded a tidy $12k for the truck and another $5k for my horrific scars on my head (I've been in worse bar fights :D) and suddenly things looked pretty good for getting a new vehicle. I decided I wanted another Tacoma and the literally the first one I saw I ended up buying.

Behold! My 2011 TRD Off Road Access Cab in Magnetic Grey the day I brought it home with 40,000 KM on the ODO (20kish miles).

What's that? The rear windows are tinted but the front aren't? A fair point... and so ended the second day of ownership.

Those silver wheels stick out a little bit on this dark looking truck. I think I should change them to something a little better suited. While we are at it better hand wash, clay bar, and then wax and polish every inch of the thing because I'm a rational adult who values his free time.

You know what though pavement can be REAL tricky sometimes. Just on the safe side I think I should get some of those new BFG KO2's that I've seen around. Hell I might as well lift the thing 3" too. It might rain and I should probably be ready. My word! someone snuck into my garage and dipped my emblems and grill overnight to boot!

And here we are today. I'm really enjoying working on the truck and soaking up all the knowledge I can from you guys. Here is a brief lift of the components I've used so far:

    3" Rancho Readylift Front Coils
    1" Block in the rear
    285/75/R16 BFG AT KO2

I am not entirely sure I went the right route with the suspension components so far as I strayed from the TW path and took outside advice before purchasing these components. I got a great deal price wise and everything aligned and rides excellent so far. In the future I may switch to a better/more reputable system like 5100s but for now I'll probably just stem the outpouring of money to a steady trickle. Thanks again everyone for reading/rolling their eyes and I hope I can get to know some of you guys as time goes on.

Digging the truck.. I've always been fond of the magnetic grey color. Sorry to hear about what happened to you and the other one, but all is well I hope! How are the KO2's? I have the original KO's on mine.
