Wondering if anyone is using the Anderson WDH on their Tacoma while towing 4500-5000 pound trailer . I am considering changing out hitches and wanted any input from someone actually using one . I have been looking at the Hensley or Propride as well but spending $2000 plus on a hitch that weights 200 lbs has made me look at other options ..

Love mine:thumbsup:. My camper weighs 4200 ready to go. I think the hitch weighs 48 lbs total and is real easy to set up

What hitch are you running now? I have the Equalizer 4 point sway control hitch and I love it. But I am not a fan of the weight of it. I already have a 800lb tongue weight and a 7800lb fully loaded weight with all the water and generator and camp chef and propane and and and and and and........ My inlaws have the Anderson and they like it but they tow a 5000lb jayco with a chevy1500. So not exactly apples and apples to what I tow. So I am interested in hearing some of the responses you get and also to what you are using now. And I am going to look at these others you mentioned. Not liking the price tag but for that money they really better do a good job of equalizing the load and antisway. Which means I could soften up my rear suspension!

I have a Reese pro with added sway bar . The sway bar has to be removed to back up and the bars make a lot of noise .

I have been told that with any of them that use tension, if they are not making noise they are not working. But yes the bar has to be removed to back up that would be annoying. I back up with mine all the time.

Reviving a couple year old thread as I am considering a TT and read a few posts about the Anderson WDH. Has anyone noticed any excessive wear on the trailer coupling after several miles/years of use? I could see where the upside of the design of this WDH could also be a downside. Since there are no torsion bars pulling down on the trailer frame rails, the Anderson pulls the trailer forward to achieve the same result. It seems like it takes an extreme pressure forward to prevent downward sag. Otherwise it seems a great simple light solution. Anyone ran into any issues?
