I'm wondering if anyone has any knowledge of OBDII and milage apps for android like:

    Efficiency: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nubbu.efficiency.free&feature=search_result

    and Torque:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/...?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsIm9yZy5wcm93bC50b3JxdWUiXQ..

I tried the former, and while it the layout is great if often looses connection with my bluetooth adapter. Even after calibration, I find torque to give fuel economy ratings significantly out from my actual calculations.

Wondering if anyone has any other options out there.

I downloaded and used torque (android version) for my 2005 Taco. I linked in with a generic bluetooth adapter (ebay, $18.95). It works fine, just hard to see on my phone (might be my aging eyes too (I'm 50). I was able to view codes and all functionality worked great. I had hoped to use iOBD2 on my IPad, but found out that the bluetooth adapter I purchased would not work with the IPad (something about a bandwidth issue).

I thought about installing a Double DIN touch screen, Android system, linked with a wifi adapter. Then you would have full time ODB II capability along with the functionality of the App. Might be an interesting project.
