Android Auto coming to Toyota

Saw this today. I have a first gen but i also own a RAV4 with crappy entune. Hopefully there can be some relief?

 

I look how the truth finally came out. It was less about the users privacy and more about self driving cars. Toyota doesn't want to help Google with the self driving cars and giving them access to the OBD2 through the head unit have Google tons of information. I doubt they will back port it to the 2018, but one can always hope.

 

I'm wondering if there will be some kind of retrofit kit for those vehicles already out there.

 

Well hopefully those of us with 2016+ tacos can benefit from this. I would love to have Android Auto and not lose any vehicle setting functionality.
