sorry you had problem with Joying support

Between the language barrier and time difference and inefficiency of email tech support it becomes frustrating.

I provide USA warranty to y customers for the Joying head unit.

you issue should be very easy fix, if you still have this problem let me know and I will help you as much as I can.

Did you need anything extra to make the steering wheel controls work?

So what are your thoughts on this unit after all this time? Would you recommend it? Did they end up getting updated to a newer version of Android?

Did your terrestrial radio reception get any better? I like listening to radio, and am looking forward to HD radio even (if supported). Did you hookup the taco's antenna connector to your unit?

I just got the 4.4 kit kat Joying 7" after doing a lot of research on these things, arrived incredibly fast. Three days ! The only issue is the after market mounting kit, I chose Metra. The quality and texture is good, but the brackets and face plate were really off. I asked Joying if they recommended another brand, they sent me this model (which i never heard of) CARVA. It has the side brackets screwed to the sides so you don't have to bolt the stock 10mm bolts back in or try and line them up.
Anybody heard of this one or used it, I just am not sure about placing all that weight on those brackets. It would make lining up the stereo to the face place much easier ?

I just ordered one of the 5.1 unit's from Amazon along with the Metra face plate. I'm glad I saw this thread before I ordered! I added the cable that OP posted. Hopefully it will make it an easier install. I'm also curious about the steering wheel controls. I would like to keep them, but I could live without them. I really do not like the factory head unit.

Not sure what year/trim level you have, but my base model base radio, came plugged into the radio with the steering wheel control harness. If you ordered the harness with the three connectors above, you should be good to go. You'll see a SW1 SW2 cables that are for the controls on the harness.

    Cool thanks for the info.
Mine is a 2008 4 door trd off road. 6 spd standard.
I did order the 3 connector as above and Amazon says it will be delivered sometime around the end of October. They are killing me here with these crazy long delivery dates.
So the SW1 and SW2 cables are for the steering wheel controls?
Also, I'm going to need to figure out what I connect to for rear camera/ backup. Mine did not have the back up camera as a factory option. But I do plan to add it in with the new unit.

back button did fix itself so no more issues with that, radio is not that bad i guess they give a booster antenna when you buy a new unit now but all in all still working good. Wish i had 2gb memory instead of 1gb like the new ones.
only 1 issue i have now is the front camera but its the camera and not the unit
