Ok thanks because when I looked at rear pics of it they only label the sub pre out and I have a 5 channel amp. Now if I can find out if mirroring will work for galaxy s6. Can't seem to get straight answer.

Why do folks use mirroring? The main reason I went with an android unit is so I wouldn't need to pull out my phone in the car.

Well the only reason for me would be too play media such as Netflix, YouTube , etc...
I know if the deck is connected to Wi-Fi I don't need to but my phone company charges to use my phone as a hot spot.

I'm thinking about going thia way over a Kenwood DDX393. Do the joying allow a camera? Multiple cameras? I've got a S4, do I have to have rhe phone plugged in to have it mirrored?

I have front and rear camera on my joying, The front is usb and I think its the Mirroring port and the other port is my USB storage. Really don't need to mirror cuz it has all the apps as the phone can use. I have s S4 aswell!

Thinking of getting one of these android units, but one that is purely capacitive touch. I would also want the newer trim kit. I was wondering if I use the newer trim kit in my 2011 will there be an annoying gap at the top?

Welp, I just won a bid on one of these units on ebay for 200 shipped. It's not this exact unit. It's the one with the touch buttons on the left side. It looks like the new Pioneer App Radio 4 head unit. All the specs are exactly the same and it even looks identical on the back side. Guess I'll be finding out how well the 2012+ trim kit fits when I get back from this deployment (hopefully very soon). The only thing I will miss is Sat Radio.

Also, I just realized that since I have the JBL system in my truck that I will need a different install harness? Did anyone install this in a JBL equipped Taco? If so, what harness did you end up getting?

As for the steering wheel controls. I'm not quite following how you guys are wiring the controls in without a steering wheel control adapter? Just wiring into the harness itself?

On my 2007, the Steering Wheel Controls are just 3 wires. No CanBus. The 3 wires connect to Key1, Key2 and ground on the harness. Programable in the headunit.

Ok cool thanks. So those wires are just off the harness itself rather than a separate harness like most other aftermarket head units.

    Update

So after a couple weeks of back and forth with joying customer service I am sending the unit back to them for a replacement. Tried the update mcu and image files that I found on thier blog and a newer set they sent to me with no success. They have asked me to return it to thier FBA in new york for the exchange rather than through Amazon who will just credit me back the money and then purchase another one. I am torn between the two options, has anyone done this before?

SRC, I thought about trying the mod but didnt feel like I could get it done without messing things up more and not be able to return it. Thanks for the suggestion though.

If you bought it through Amazon, return it to them at least you are protected. If you return the manufacturer...they can give you refurbished...not fix it and return as is after the Amazon return allowance expiration. The only time I return back to the manufacturer is because the second unit I got from Amazon was exactly the same defect...the manufacturer wanted it back to inspect the flaw... it turned out the Amazon warehouse stored the box in a wet location and it got rusted...so I got a good new unit directly from manufacturer.... I doubt Joying will be so liberal/generous. It's pretty cool they can make a head unit for that good of a price, but not much margins....I love to get one, but I want HD radio...so waiting for that option or go with the more expensive name brand audio vendors.

All set for round 2. Took the advice of imom and returned the defective unit to Amazon. Got the refund almost immediately so I then ordered the replacement. Its the joying unit that doesn't have any buttons, all touch screen. Gotta wait till this weeked for the temps to be a little more bearable out in the garage. Fingers crossed.

Too cold? I love Amazon...always have... kinda suck they have to charge tax now, but their customer service is still very good. Glad it worked out for you.

Thanks for asking this, I was wondering the same thing. I'm also concerned about loosing some of the settings for the truck since those are built into the head unit. There's the unlock settings and whatnot in there.

Quick question for the guys that installed this deck. Were you able to use the stock mic for Bluetooth?
