    here are the specs.
2001 extended cab, 5 speed manual, 4x4 no Elocker 93k.
Tranny was drained and filled by and independant shop at 89k.

So, I had a lot of play in my shift handle and I was having a hard time getting into 2nd with out trying a couple times and feeling crunchy. I ordered from Marlin Crawler, a new shifter seat, shifter bushing and a new boot ( cause it didn't have a boot ) So, when I got the housing open, I of course found that the old shifter seat was disintegrated. I cleaned out as much as I could, while trying not to let anything fall in to the tranny. I even pulled off the top of the housing so I could get in there real good.

Now...... I get a grind on some gears, not all, not the same one's all the time while shifting, and when I shift in to 5th with the RPM above 2k, I get a bit of a hitback on the shift lever.

So, was the extra freeplay before I replaced the shifter seat masking a clutch going out?

I've tried the get into second gear, then shift to 5th and floor it to check the RPM and they don't climb, but I'm kinda at a loss.... It's like the clutch does not engage all the way, ya know?

So, I'm thinking next steps are
    1. drain and fill the tranny because I don't know what they put in at the shop.
    2. Is there a pan to drop on this year to clean it out really well and get a look at the gears.
    3. is there a clutch pedal adjustment that I can do that may fix this?
    4. Am I looking at a new clutch?

    any ideas?

    Thanks!
