Has anyone encountered this issue before? I think this is due to anit-theft being active. I lost my keys and used a spare key that I made from home depot to unlock door, and now my truck starts and runs but all these alarms on it. Odometer does not advance, lights and fog lights are always on, Crawl, and ABS warning alarms are on, window wipers don't work, or the stereo.

Is this a simple reset? or should I take it to the dealership?

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

The first thing I would do, would be to disconnect the negative cable on your battery for about 15 minutes and see if that help. Does your OEM key have a chip or something in it? How do you deactivate the alarm? It almost sounds like the anti theft is still on like you said. But if that were the case, you would think it shouldn't even be able to start.

i doubt unplugging the battery will do anything, does home depot have the ability to program your truck for your new key? keep in mind these keys have a chip in them.

It was my understanding that the truck would not start at all with a non-programmed key. That is what the theft system is designed to do.

Sounds like a trip to the dealer and have your credit card ready if you need a new programmed key. Did you loose both of them??

Well I do have a Clifford alarm system also.
I tried unplugging the battery, positive and negative for about 8 hours and nothing helped.
The keys still work, because i am able unlock and lock the truck by using both keys.
This all happened when i used a non-chipped key, to manually unlock the door using the key hole on my drivers side door. After i did, all these alarms came up

That wouldn't cause this to happen. Did the non chipped key start the truck?

No, i didnt use the non chip to try to start the car. I only used it to unlock the car.

Your key didn't do this. You have something else going on. You need a trip to the dealer for warranty work. You haven't installed any electrical components since the start of ownership?

What TrdSurgie said. Unlocking the door didn’t do this. What was that about an after market alarm??

My plain key copy will start the truck, but the truck will shut off after moving the shifter out of park. I’ve never experienced the issue you’re seeing.

The only thing that ive installed was a Clifford aftermarket alarm system, and remote start. But i think that if it was due to that the alarm would go OFF and the auto start would not work.

I don’t understand. You said you lost your keys and used a key that you had made to unlock the door.

How did you get it to start though if you didn’t have the fob?

Edit: I just read that you have an aftermarket alarm and remote start. I suspect that the remote start bypasses the immobilizer and since the fob and the immobilizer weren’t detected, your truck is in a state that the ECU doesn’t know how to interpret which is why all those lights and messages are displayed.

You need to find your fob or get a new one programmed
