I tried to do a search for the answer to this question, but maybe I don't have it worded correctly. There is an annoying "Obey laws" message that you have to get past to get to the nav home screen. Is there a bypass to get rid of it?

New head unit. No sarcasm, I haven't found a way to bypass it either, searches yield nothing for me as well.

I'll call support tomorrow. I hate intrusions and I hate PSAs! lol I hate win10 too. I disabled Cortata immediately when I got my new computer. This will bug me until I find a way to disable it.

Go back to analog if it bothers you. Eventually everything with a screen will have an ad or a message saying things you don't want to read. My Kindle had a choice... cheap with ads or expensive with no ads. I chose expensive.

It’s a legal requirement to have that 10 second warning.
Even my aftermarket Kenwood head unit had it.
I wouldn’t stress on it just deal with the 10 seconds or so as you should let your vehicle warm up before takeoff anyway.

Just be thankful you don’t have to do anything. My Acura TL required me to press an OK button on screen to use the navigation. If you didn’t press OK within 20 seconds or so it would shut off.

After dealing with the one in my Colorado, which would pop up once a month at random times, forcing you to take your eyes off the road, I much prefer the way Toyota did it. Having it display during boot up make much more sense.

It’s really bothersome? It’s up for like 10 seconds and then disappears. A good mod is just don’t look at the screen for those 10 seconds.

I like it! Maybe you should post a step by step instruction.

It’s really detailed. I just don’t have the time to post it. Sorry.

Especially because it improves MPG and HP at the same time and it even adds half an inch of lift! I couldn’t be happier!

All navs have it. It's CYA for them. You'd think that accepting it 20+ times would be enough, but no, that one time it doesn't show up and you turn right into a building and sue them...

I think I have to click it away. I don't think it disappears after ten seconds unless I hit the agree button. I don't like it cuz Nav isn't the boss of me!

Some people just love their modern gadgets, and I suppose that's fine. If I can't find it using instinct then it's not real navigation... If you rely on a crutch (like maps) then you'll be lost when you don't have one. Need to learn the basics first.

I get what you're saying, but I have a horrible sense of direction. GPS is almost a necessity for me. I was really happy when I found offline map apps for my phone. It's incredible to have the world in my hand. I have layers of apps for commuting (waze), trips (google maps), route planning (rever and copilot gps using route converter), and offline (copilot gps). ridewithgps is a backup route planning app that I have just in case.

With that, I never had a standalone GPS unit. I try to keep my gadgets concentrated.

Before that, I would just crutch on friends / family to get in and out of new places, esp when on trips.
