when breaking and coming to a complete stop I feel a kick back as if something was moving foward in the rear. I brought my 2009 Db lb in for service and the machanic told me that it was the yoke sticking on the drive shaft. He told me he lubed it and it should be ok. I think it maybe helped for a few days but it seems to have come back. I was wondering if anybody else was experienceing the same problem.

we 1st-gen owners have what they call "axlewrap" which is the rear leafsprings sort of contorting as you stop. maybe it's what you have too-harmless. My personal feeling is that the automatic tranny doesnt come to 1st gear soon enough as I wind down to stop and it hangs in 2nd. Then as I release the brake and roll a couple feet it thumps into 1st there. but it's been doing this since new which is 10 yrs with no bad consequence so just a quirk I suppose.

I have to say I like my truck but between that annoying problem and my radio being replaced twice and now my wind shield wiper motor having to be replaced toyota is not the same. I had a 1998 tacoma before this one and for ten years with 90k on it the only thing I ever replaced was the starter besides that only regular maintence was reguired. best tk I ever owned. even my 1984 toyota P/U that I had for 14 yrs never had these bullshit problems.

Toyota all weather floor mats. Mag light that clunks around in the jack compartment. Dog hair. Dog drool on the windows.
I thought this would be a thread about wives, or girlfriends....
but maybe that's just my mindset right now.

I get it taking off. Only started after I had the rear spring TSB done.

Very sad situation for sure...what happened with Toyota-the result of high demand and diminished work ethic. Still you have a fantastic truck in its driveline, looks, utility, materials, power-it goes on. Not a POS truck at all. I do see though your dissappointment because you have direct experience with tacomas of old. No comparison..they reached the pinnacle of quality then.

It was blue with gray stripes on the side it turnd some heads. even though it didn't move to quick with its 22r engine it had an ass kickin radio in it. alot of good memorys. Just thought id share this with you guy. Thanks have a great day.
