so I have this terrible squeeling noice very high pitched coming from the front of the truck. its starts at about 15mph and proceeds to get higher the faster I go then slows to a stop as I come to a stop (sounds like a tea kettle whistling then as I stop sounds like what the tea kettle sounds like when you open the relief valve). I swear it sounds just like a bad belt but the belts been replaced, pads and rotors are new. I'm guessing its a bad bearing but have no idea where to start.. any suggestions or anyone faced this problem PLEASE HELP!! this shits driving me insane... which is also a possibility due to the fact the truck wont "squeal" when I try and show it to someone.

Even though it’s been replaced it may still be the serpentine belt. To check take a bar of soap and hold it on the belt while running. If it’s the belt the sound should disappear. This is not a fix, just a way to see if it’s the belt.

Only in motion? Jack it up and spin your front tires independent of each other. You might have a spring clip on the brake pads rubbing. When I did my brakes the first time I did the same thing.

so upon further investigation is not the wear clips on the pads I'm going to replace the bearings in the tensioner pulleys and belt pulleys and see what happens

Before you throw money at it, check them. Use a piece of small pipe/conduit and put it on the bolt that holds the pulley on. If one is bad, you should be able to hear the difference. Also put it on the alternator case to check it.
A cheap HF stethascope (sp?) works well too.

make sure you check the heat shield for rubbing on your rotor...Ive had that happen numerous times.

Only at speed, not idle/stopped I'd be checking wheel bearings

Wouldn't that be a grinding noise?

What about the shield behind the brakes?

@Mugshot89, is it speed variant or rpm variant. Does the tone just get higher as you speed up or does it go up with rpm and drop when the tranny shifts and go up again?

it seems like a speed variant it starts at about 15mph and whistles then slows as I slow. I don't notice any difference in sound when gears are changed

yeah wheel bearings make a grinding noise. it sounds exactly like a bad serpentine belt squeal so I don't think it would be the dust shields ive heard that noise before after doing some off road trails and that sounds more like a scraping. also I feel like that noise would occur any time the truck is in motion.

Changed all drain plugs to Dimple Magnetic plugs UNI filter on air pump
How about a vaccum l leak. That small hose at the rear of the air intake assembly.
That would show up as RPM increases.

Hey Mugshot, I am having similar symptoms after recently replacing my belts, wondering if you ever got the high pitch noise while driving/accelerating to go away.

    Thanks

I haven’t yet man I’ve tried just about everything I can think of going to start putting wd40 on pulleys one by one to eliminate the squeal
