If engine has no Torque left transmission got to shift.... Thats a new engine.... it will do fine on 1-5th because 3.9 or 4.30 gears. 6th where it will go down.

I guess that -1 ft-lb of torque isn't worth the +42 hp. Maybe it will be better when I throw some 33s on it. Haha

There is a reason why Toyota installed 3.91 and 4.30 gears in that truck.... ....

No for the same reason why people install 4.88 when they upgrade tires.... or 5.29 when they really upgrade tires..
The Higher the ratio, the more Torque at the wheel. if you can not make engine more torquee , just use gears.

If it doesn't shift, it's going to slow to a stop and stall

aires 3D mats, scan gauge II, rear differential breather relocation, and bakflip G2 bed cover.
I'm interested in seeing how the new transmission tows heavy loads compared to the 5 speed transmission.

Yeah they outsourced the programming to the apes at the Zoo in Little Rock, Arkansas. It's part of the "Primate Enrichment Program" and it helps GM save some major bucks.

In a way I suppose it's not surprising, after all in 6th gear it's turning a couple hundred rpm lower than the 5th gear in the 2nd gen. As long as it doesn't do the downshift to 3rd and shoot 10 mph over the set speed while cresting a mild hill like the early 2nd gen programming used to do, I wouldn't lose sleep over it myself.

I would be curious if anyone has an ultragauge and can watch at what %load the thing kicks out of top gear. If it's jumping out at some ridiculously low number like 65% then at that point I'd say Toyota goofed it up a bit.

It looks just like my profile pic and in the top right corner of the tacomaworld page. I'll try to get some pics up in a bit though. It didn't come with heated seats, sunroof, or dual zone climate. Butt FTW right?

not to nitpick, but I have seen both of those pics. your profile pic is photoshopped from a red truck with heavy HDR, and the 2 pics of white I see in the top right corner are a DCLB sport and a DCSB off-road. close but no cigar :p

I do know it doesn't come with those things. I will miss having a sunroof.
