OP whats your voice/vote on the matter? have you ever smoked? i haven't dug through the polls to see where you fall in. im not saying your casting judgement in this poll, likely just curious, but it's hard for a nonsmoker to really understand where a smoker (or dipper in my case) comes from. . . . and i say this cause my health nut roommate will see me dipping or when i ask him to pick me up a can will say "that will kill you" and so on and so on. and im sure i can speak for the crowd, when a smoker/dipper is annoyed or bothered the only thing they want is a smoke/dip. see what im saying? and like i said, i know you didn't make the thread to pick a fight (me either) but im just curious.

I'm a non-smoker so I am not going to comment on what counts as quitting and what doesnt. But as far as money goes, my best friend smokes a pack a day. I think the ones she smokes are like $10-$12/pack. Thats like 4 grand a year! Crazy!

ya see, that's it right there that you don't get man. people don't smoke because they're like "yeah, fuck the man, screw my health, i don't care!!" people smoke because a series of dumb decisions earlier in their life got them hooked. a non smoker telling an ex smoker that them lighting up every now and then is a terrible thing is like telling a reformed hooker she can't have sex ever again. i mean i respect that you are encouraging people to quit, i really do, but coaching when you've never played the game is tricky. just saying.

My wife and I quite cold turkey at the beginning of the year (Jan. 1st) and never looked back and we're saving a shit load of money. I smoked a little over 10 years and she smoked about 5. It was a bitch don't get me wrong but I was just OVER it...I couldn't even finish a cigg without putting it out...I was just DONE!...I still want one every now and again but the urge only last's a few minute and then it dissipates. I smoked about half a pack a day and she smoked about a pack because she was in the Nursing Program and would smoke while she studied and such...So glad I quite man. An now I can't hardly stand the smell of the fuckin' things...I can smell one a mile away...even when I drive past a car with the window down. It made me feel bad for my non smoking friends...But I was respectful about it, I'd walk away and come back when I was finished

We were spending around $2,000 to $2,500 a year JUST ON SMOKES!!!!!! Can you believe that!!!???

    We smoked Camel Lights

the dos equis guy is the "most interesting man in the world". the one from those funny commercials. . . my stupid joke at the end was about the marlboro man. he was a marketing campaign for the marlboro cigarette brand of the phillip morris company for many many years (before US federal law made huge restrictions towards cigarette advertising). i think there were around 4 different marlboro men. in the ads he was smoking marlboro cigarettes, encouraging macho men to smoke and to be cool like him. . . i think it was a time magazine article that revealed him to be the most influential person that never lived ( because cig sales shot up) . . . . . . im from NC, there's tobacco fields everywhere, it's our cash crop, big business here. you learn this kind of stuff growing up in this state (one of the main reasons for the cheap costs and high use).
