    Need suggestions
My roxi habit killed me, my bourbon habits hurt, and my cig smoking was of least concern. Seriously though quit all but bourbon and I have tons of cash.

I started taking the Chantix 5 weeks ago. Haven't had a cigarette in 3 weeks, and the last 4 days prior I made a pack last all that time. I bought a Blu E-cig just in case and leave it in my truck so I have to get up, put my shoes on, go outside....makes me less likely to even touch it.

I started walking on my break at work instead of smoking. Gets me out of the office still.

Tired of smoking, started at age 14 and I'm coming up to 40. $8-something a pack (I was buying 2-3 a day for us both) and they are going up another $1 a pack soon. That and I had a cancer scare earlier this year..gave me a lot to think about.

I smoked for 25 years almost a pack a day. Never really wanted to quit. I enjoyed smoking. My mother was a smoker and died of cancer(related to smoking), then the following year my father died of bladder cancer (also related to smoking). Then I started to think about quitting. 3 month layer I had to spend a week in the hospital for back problems, got out of the hospital anc cached a cold. Tried a cigarette and tasted like shit and quit. Missed it for about a year, specially after a meal. I don't really feel better, but the smell .......Every time I'm next to a smoker , I can believe i used to smell like that.

I quit on 5-5-05 and have never had the urge to smoke again.

    How you ask?

Well I tried a few times in my 20 year smoking career.

I tried cold turkey and tried with the patch.

    Again I said I TRIED.

Then one day I got out of breath doing something simple and I said "THIS IS FUCKING STUPID". Once you find you fuck this moment you will have no problem quitting. At least TRY a few times before that moment or just go for it.

So I went to the Dr and got a prescription for Zyban (I did this because my mom did it and she never smoked again) and got some patches. Next thing I did give it some time to figure out a date to quit. I realized 5-5-05 was coming up so I picked that as my date and started all the crap. On the day I quit I also quit coffee:eek: and I got a bunch of Alive vitamins. So I did all of that. Vitamins for about 3-4 months and no coffee for about 9 months. That was the hardest part quitting the coffee. But luckily I am back on the coffee now:D

Good luck to anyone quitting. Its the best thing you can do for yourself.

Probably more than drinking. Thank The Lord I don't do both . I'll be adding up my drink receipts for the year pretty soon.
